Does anyone have the picture of the Johns brothers shaking hands before playing against each other for the first time?

I can't find a higher quality one, but this is from a knights photo archive site

The Messenger family have it. That link explains it all, Messenger died penniless but still had the shield. They still own it and are looking for a suitable buyer. I cant believe Easts or anyone else havent bought it yet, its a fair price imo.

cheers mate.

Can't believe the Roosters wouldn't buy it though, that's one piece of history that you just cannot get anywhere else. And by rights they earnt it.

Not surprised the NRL wouldn't buy it.

got no idea how to upload pictures :

albert baskerville

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._baskerville.jpg/457px-Albert_baskerville.jpg

without him there would be no RL in australia. his idea for a professional all blacks tour to england gave people the push forward to set up RL here.

he died of a flu he caught after playing in a game with the all golds in sydney

had he not died then theres a good chance hed have gone back to nz and turned it into a RL nation as well.

who are the players in these.

one is ryan from saints, but the other jersey look foreign

the top one if newtown.
The top one is Henry Holloway (Newtown) getting tackled by Martin Gallagher (Souths) in the 1954 Grand Final. The other players are, from left, Jack Rayner (Souths-back) Ernie Hammerton (Souths-about to help with the tackle) and Don Stait (Newtown)

The bottom one is Gordon Willoughby (Manly) scoring a try against Wests in the 1951 Semi Final. He scored three tries in that game and Manly won 37-9. This try is his second for the game
