What do we hope to see from the trial?

The most important part for me was attitude. Even though we were 44 up we still showed commitment.
We also had a lot of players off in the second half who will be playing first grade. The whole squad trains for a spot and there were guys out there from both teams that would have been pushing for a first grade spot. No excuses Canberra.

No points conceded. Can only play what is put in front of u and we did that. Effort shows we will win a few games this year.

That.
Haha yes, I'll take one large serving of everything that transpired in the last 2 hours, thanks.

I think I've got Levi as my MoM. Different team with him on the field. Bees dick in it, probably 6 other blokes you could give it to. Stuff Kostjaysn too, certainly as a starter anyway.

That mob actually looked like a footy team.

Fingers crossed the injury curse is kind to us this year.

They looked fit, enthusiastic, organised and showed some skill from front row to fullback.

I even have to give Gagai a wrap. Haven't seen that type of performance from him in long, long time for us.

yeah levi, then barnett for me. pick one from gagai/pythian/hodko/the saifitis/buhrer for third place
What I liked is that the experience in the team didn't let us down, like they did last year. The old heads all did old head stuff, reliable and professional.

That lets the young kids thrive and grow.

Now we have to prove that it wasn't just a trial game win and we can up it for the start of the season. I think we can.
I can't think of any areas we need to improve with the starting 13. Levi can play more minutes and seems better for his back surgery and preseason. Lamb seems to work. Elliot will make a good backup, Pythian has to be fullback, Both Safitis in the 17, don't go near Pearsall ...

Didnt catch all of it but f**k me we looked good. While their backline was far from their best, to hold seemingly their best forward pack and the likes of Austin and Hodgson to nill is a tremendous effort. Not getting ahead of myself, its only a trial but its an encouraging result.

Hopefully I can find a replay when I get home.

I was completely wrapped with the game. Barnett was a freak and gagai well what can i say he was a completely different player.barely a flaw in the whole game!i know its a trial but its the defense that had me gobsmacked. Keep them at nil,we have to remember this is canberra genuine title contenders .we will win a few more games then people think, last year titans were predicted to get the spoon snd look how they went.we are well under the cap ,so major signings this year:wink:

Woh. That was some game.

Sure it was a trial but no team in any game likes getting a donut. The first half against Canberras best was extremely impressive across the park.

Now to take that performance and turn it loose on the warriors.

Sio looked very slow. Stockwell didnt do anything wrong but didnt stand out at all. Though I missed the last 15 min due to the stream playing up.

Given that it's a trial match I don't want to go over the top but if we can play with that level of effort and show that kind of attitude every week we'll be in for a pretty entertaining year I reckon. At least we'll be competitive in most games. Although it's obviously going to be a different kettle of fish when we play against proper NRL standard lineups and when there's competition points on offer. But either way if we play the way we did today we will be a tough team to play against.

IMO the most important thing is we need to get a win on the board early in the season, first 3 or 4 rounds is going to be massive for us building belief in the club again. If we're still winless after 7-8 games it'll be another tough year. That being said we've got some really winnable games early up, Warriors are always slow starters, Gold Coast aren't a top side at this stage and Souths aren't the team they were 3 years ago.

All in all if we play like that each round then I'll actually enjoy watching Knights games again.

Sio was professional and his defensive decisions were very sound. Happy with what I saw. Take that over Aku rushing in to take thin air any day.

Sio didn't have to do too much but what he had to do he did well. Happy we have him and I expect he'll be one of our starting wingers.

My complaint is only about his speed. Give him the ball in space and he looks like he's moon walking.

He isn't going to score any long range tries down the sideline for us. The rest of his game was fine.
