What do we hope to see from the trial?

Yeah, if we can put a few consistent performances together then maybe, just maybe I'll believe a corner has been turned

If we could just sign one more big aggressive prop I'd be pretty excited. As good as we were against Canberra, when the real deal starts I can still see us getting bullied around a bit in the middle.

Mataora was our best prop last year and seems to battling niggles. It's a lot of pressure on the Saifitis and Starling, who is a solid player but not a dominant one.

Hopefully the skill and mobility in our back row really helps our go forward. We need it to.

But oh if we could just pick up a serious prop, not even rep level just above average, maybe knocking on the door of rep footy, and keen to become a pack leader. Pleaaaaaase.

I think for this year Tupou will do the job. He is not so much in the aggressive mould but he is a good footballer and a point-of-difference type player.

Clearly we are targeting a prop for 2018 onwards after that.

I'm a fan of the Tupou signing for sure. I'll be very happy if he has still got it in him to be that player I'm talking about for this year. I've always seen him as more of a hole-running wide player than a prop, even though he's played there obviously.

I guess what I really meant is that the squad would take on a different look with one more very big body in the middle. I suppose Pauli is that guy if and when he's fit and in favour. I would love Pauli to come back from his injury and kick on with his career. It's all there if he wants it bad enough.

Great result on the weekend. Was trying to stream this while I was at the Penrith Parra trial (Parra looked absolutely useless in attack without Norman) but didn't get to watch all of it.

Is Starling likely to start round 1 after that performance?

I'd say he'll probably start round 1, he looked pretty solid out there. Worked hard and made good contact with his tackles. I don't have the inside word or anything but it seemed like Brown started the trial with his best 13 before taking a few guys off after half time.
