What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

If the stupidity of that line can't be seen, well there's no points arguing

im sorry I annoyed you, using statistics & logic & facts & things

The point you were talking down was a valid one. As is the point that the other mongs can f*ck up and not be scapegoated but it's okay for that to happen to Hayne because he's an outsider invading the yanks' sport.

The 49ers are utter sh*t and they have a better, far more exciting option in Hayne twiddling his thumbs.

If I was Tomsula, just play him next week FFS and see what happens.

They are a steaming pile of dog shit at the moment so it's worth a gamble IMO.

It's not like they can get any worse.

Hayne PRs/Fumb: 8/3 = fumbles 37.5% of returns
Ellington PRs/Fumb: 18/3 = fumbles 16.6% of returns

'But Hayne is a better runner of the ball!'

Hayne PR avg yards - 9.5
Ellington PR avg yards - 7.6

So yes, the 49ers should risk 21% greater risk of giving the opposition the ball in scoring position, based on an extra 2 yards a return...... & doesn't know how to block

1 fumble was where a team mate ran into him.

the point is, hayne has far more upside than ellington and the seasons gone. doesnt matter if they win or lose anymore

no, it's not. I'm not even going explain how 'but they didn't score anyway...' is a dumb statement, it should be that obvious.

As is the point that the other mongs can f*ck up and not be scapegoated

Wrong. The only person with more fumbles than Hayne in the team is Kaepernick - & they've both been put on the sidelines.

but it's okay for that to happen to Hayne because he's an outsider invading the yanks' sport.

 racism against Australians!

The idea that the niners and the NFL are running some kind of tin foiled hat conspiracy to keep an Australian from succeeding in their sport is the most ridiculous thing I've seen all year

The NFL don't give a flying f**king about who you are and where you come from. Greg f**king Hardy is a monster who should be in jail, and he has a job for one reason - he can play football
The NFL is a true meritocracy, too many jobs and too much money at stake to be sitting blokes because they don't want outsiders to be successful

If the coaches and team felt he could make plays, he'd be in the team. As it stands they don't believe he can make a positive contribution to the team right now. Now maybe the coaches are wrong, but if they're wrong it's because they can't evaluate talent, not because they don't want him to succeed.

His regular season tape suggests their evaluation of him is probably correct

The NFL is reaching a saturation point within the US. They are desperate to increase revenue, and their best option is outside the US, hence the reason for London games, and the NFL would love nothing more for a nonAmerican (and nonCanadian) to be a success in the league in order to get that players countrymen to tune into the NFL, unfortunately as of now Hayne is not that man.

As I've said before if Hayne had been born in Dayton, Ohio and played 4 years at Western Kentucky his pre season exploits and being sent to the practice squad would have been tiny blips on the weekly NFL news.

IMO the 9ers need to adopt the George Costanza theory for the last 2 games.

Do the complete opposite to what they would normally do this season.

That means that have to play Hayne.

You know it makes sense.

Good mate of mine never liked to work an 8 hour day, gave up hard yakka all together when the dole grabbed him by the balls and he became accustomed to manipulation. Hayne will be content in doing what he's doing, only a handful of years left before his use-by date expires, where better to spend them

And risk him having some good games then losing him in free agency.

Honestly the lack of knowledge in this thread is hilarious. The 49ers can't promote him, or they risk losing him.

I suggest some people who are saying they are idiots look at how the whole practice squad, waivers system works in the NFL. Hayne is no chance of getting promoted this season (maybe the last game, but for what purpose?), what they have done is very deliberate and they intend on signing him to a futures contract (or practice squad) for next season.

If Hayne were to be made 'active' this week, he would be ineligible under NFL rules to ever be in the practice squad again (too many weeks in the squad and potentially too many weeks active on game day). What does that mean? He hits free agency, can sign a futures contract but cannot train with the squad. It also gives other teams a peak into his development and gives them the option to sign him.

So the 49ers have a lot to lose by promoting him, and nothing to gain.

He wasn't even good in the games he played anyway. He has a long way to go before he's a bona fide NFL player, and being active on gameday isn't necessarily the best path to get there.

Anyway, how can you support a game where they have encouraged hitting with the helmets, and where you have to be tall to be the main play-maker? Stop watching Am. Football ffs.

The Roosters won't be able to fit Hayne in under the cap because they will be signing SBW again at the end of the Rio Olympics.

Anyway Hayne will be carving up the NRL in 2016. He will have no interest in returning to the NRL with the money he will be earning and the accolades he will be receiving in the USA.

He is on the plane to Detroit.

If SF promote him from the PS it could lock him in for next year. If he is on PS at the end of the season any team could sign him
If he is in the 53 they cannot and he can remain a 49er.

Hope he gets in the game this week.
