Annie Hall
Alright. Funny in parts but Woody Allen's overly nasal and whiny character can get quite annoying.
7.3/10

Lots of time on planes the last few weeks

All is Lost. Very good movie, really enjoyed it 8.5/10
American Hustle. Can see why it won the awards 9/10
Her. Great Sci Fi. Very thought provoking and brilliant performances 9/10
Don Jon. Billed as a comedy and a 5 if it was. Personally I thought it more a drama so a 6.5 as a film
In A World. Made me laugh. 7.5
47 Ronin. Heard it was crap, but it was OK for what it was 6
Nebraska. Very good movie. 8.5
Enders Game. was going OK but one of the worst endings in a film I can remember 4
Inside Llewyn Davis. It was a pretty good film that really didn't go anywhere. 7.5

The ending is fantastic, admittedly it works better in the book but it's the pay off for everything that went before. Without that end it's barely worth watching. The book is one of my favourite Sc i- Fi's and I've read 100's of them. The adults in the movie are poorly cast and poorly acted true enough but they get the message across. The whole thing could have been done better but it's still worth watching and I know a few kids, 12 and under who just love the film.

The whole movie is barely worth watching. Might be a good book, everything came off as cliched in the movie.
Ender was training for that scenario the whole movie, why would he do it in training if he wouldn't do it in real life? What's the point of him even being there then?

The Councellor - full of stars, Fassbender, Bardem, Diaz, Pitt, wriiten by Cormac McCarthy ( No Country for Old Men, The Road ) directed by the great Ridley Scott and it's barely a 6/10. Unsatisfying, hard to follow, waste of time and talent.

Smiley Gets a Gun - 1958 8/10.
A great little Aussie film starring Chips Rafferty, Leonard Teale and Keith Calvert as the often flabbergasted scallywag Smiley Greevins.

The oldies put that on for the kids.

I was impressed with how good a movie it actually was.

*Spoilers warning*

So, entering the theater to watch this movie to end my week, I thought I was in for a biblical story that would tell it the way I've previously seen in other movies and perhaps the way they were told in school - 2 of every creature, big storm etc...

How wrong could I be.

This movie was not sparred the dramatisation known as Hollywood Fever! It got to the point where gigantic rock like creatures were in their masses defending the rectangular shaped 'arc' that looked more like a fortress. I mean, I honestly could've been mistaken for watching Lord of the Rings... it was that bad. There were more than just 2 of every creature it also seemed, I mean the snakes or instance and critters seems to be there in their droves. There probably were on 2 of each, but the gloominess of the production didn't make it appear that way.

All in all it had the basics of the story everyone knows and associates with Noahs Arc, however the extras and all the bits in between were a big letdown for this film. It was one of those movies where less would've been more. Also it was the type where you were on Russell Crowes side at the beginning of the film, but began to despise him as it went on.

Something I would not pay to see again, but wouldn't go as far as too say I regret seeing it - especially as we approach Easter!

6.5/10.

Re-watched 21 Jump Street last night. I really enjoy that flick. Channing Tatum is born for comedy, and Jonah Hill does what he does best.

Looking forward to 22 Jump Street.

That was the point.
There weren't more than 2 of every creature. Do you know how many species of snake there are?
The whole film was an exploration of the morality of killing off the entire world's population with a flood. It wasn't supposed to be a straight biblical retelling.
Aronofsky isn't a 'Hollywood fever' man.
