Not too heavy on a storyline but kick arse special effects
heard it was shitSaw The Amazing Spiderman 2 this arvo and really enjoyed it.
8/10
I concur on the Lego Movie being great fun. Very similar vibe to Wreck-It Ralph (which I also enjoyed though didn't get to see that at cinema), love how the animation sticks within the realms of Lego physics.
My favourite part had to be "SPACESHIP!!!!!". Partly 'cos Charlie Day rules, partly because we had a Lego Spaceship set back in the 80s, half of the helmets being broken like the one on the movie as well!!!
*Spoilers warning*
So, entering the theater to watch this movie to end my week, I thought I was in for a biblical story that would tell it the way I've previously seen in other movies and perhaps the way they were told in school - 2 of every creature, big storm etc...
How wrong could I be.
This movie was not sparred the dramatisation known as Hollywood Fever! It got to the point where gigantic rock like creatures were in their masses defending the rectangular shaped 'arc' that looked more like a fortress. I mean, I honestly could've been mistaken for watching Lord of the Rings... it was that bad. There were more than just 2 of every creature it also seemed, I mean the snakes or instance and critters seems to be there in their droves. There probably were on 2 of each, but the gloominess of the production didn't make it appear that way.
All in all it had the basics of the story everyone knows and associates with Noahs Arc, however the extras and all the bits in between were a big letdown for this film. It was one of those movies where less would've been more. Also it was the type where you were on Russell Crowes side at the beginning of the film, but began to despise him as it went on.
Something I would not pay to see again, but wouldn't go as far as too say I regret seeing it - especially as we approach Easter!
6.5/10.
This afternoon watched Under Seige 2: Dark Territory - one of Steven Seagals great action films.
This evening, went to the cinema to watch Noah - brief review: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?p=10059704#post10059704
Had a Cage-a-thon the other day The Rock, Con Air, and Face/Off.
Really loved Cage when those films came out within a few years of each other. Love The Rock and Con Air and really like Face/Off.
