Watched The Jungle Book on Netflix last night. Easy to watch and surprisingly pretty good. Heaps better then the heap of shit Tarzan movie that was out last year. Visually stunning and wasn't too corny for a Disney kids story. Apparently they are making a sequel due in 2018.

The neon demon.

No words to describe. If you said here watch this it has christina hendricks and keanu reeves in it it is galaxies away from what you'd expect
Check out the Pusher trilogy by the same director. Three great crime movies with some overlapping characters, they each have a different feel though.

Birth of a Nation.

It was OK but nowhere near the quality of 12 Years a Slave. Deserved better as it is an interesting true life character.

Yeah pretty sure they are. Also a live action The Lion King is in the works.

IBoy- (netflix) liked it. 7/10

Allied- two boring characters have a wooden romance, by the time it gets to the 'interesting' part of is she or isn't she a spy you will have dozed off. 4/10

Steve Jobs, with Fassbender. Meh it was ok. An interesting look into the man but I have no prior knowledge about him and have no idea how true any of it was.

Re-watched Eyes Wide Shut

I've never really given it a chance. Seems like genius now. I'm going to view it again.

The accountant. I really enjoyed this. Ben Afflect was surprisingly good in it. Great story, even if I could see the twist a mile away.

Split

Wow.

Then I go to IMDB to check it out, first review (which I assume is the most popular).

User Reviews

Very disappointing.

Not scary or suspenseful at all. McAvoy's character was ridiculous and not the least bit frightening. In fact, I laughed through most of his performance. I almost walked out halfway through, but i wanted to give the movie a chance to get better- it didn't; in fact, it went further downhill. To call this movie horror or smart or clever, even in the slightest, is a flat-out insult to the viewer. This movie sucks- waste of time and money. The critic's seem to have viewed a completely different version and praise this movie up and down. Not only not scary, but just not a very we written and developed story line. So much potential was lost here. I'm baffled by the rave reviews of the critics, are they smoking something that might have made this an entirely different movie?

EDIT: Geez there are a lot of bad reviews on this movie.

IMDB users are a pretty bad judge of movies IMO, it's full of trolls.

I thought it was a nice, tense, taut little thriller.

McAvoy was actually quite good.

Each to their own, I guess.

This reviewer says "calling this movie horror is an insult", it's not a horror movie, it's a thriller, there is a difference.

I'd seen it before but a couple of weekend's back I re-watched Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight (2013) on Foxtel. Was made by HBO, stars Christopher Plummer, Frank Langella and Danny Glover. Based on what actually happened, it is about Ali's court case against his drafting in the Supreme Court. It is told through what went on in the court, between the justices of the court and their staff, with relevant real life clips of Ali spliced in. Some parts of it are dramatized but it is a fascinating movie as it is based on real life.

8/10 for mine.
