Lion King

No heart like the original
The problem is because of the realism, the animals don’t have expressions on their faces

You don’t know if they’re angry, sad, happy
So it solely relied on the voice actors

Nocturnal animals. Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal. Strange movie about a woman reading a novel written by her ex, the novel is played out for over half the movie and is the more exciting part of the story. Great performance by Gyllenhaal. 7/10

Slowly going through all the Steven king based movies.

Apt pupil 6/10. Found it a good watch.
Hearts in Atlantis- 7/10. Anything with Anthony Hopkins generally makes a story better. A role that suits his style.

Catching up on some older stuff I missed.

The Expendables- not what I expected. 5/10

The Expendables 2- much better tongue in cheek fun, exactly what I expected from the original. 8/10

The Expendables 3- Mel Gibson is a surprisingly great villain in this. 7/10

The Red Sea Diving Resort .
Netflix movie based on a true story ( how true when the Israelis were involved is open to question)
Still an interesting little known story of rescuing Ethiopian Jewish refugees .
7/10

Once upon a time in Hollywood. Loved it. Went for nearly 3 hours but didn’t feel like it. Loved Pitt’s character. Was right on par with Inglorious Bastards.

Will definitely go see it when it comes out in a few weeks.

The Snowman - Expectation weren't high as I heard it was terrible. Wasn't as bad as I expected but far from good. Like it's kind of hard to follow but not because the storyline is complex, more because the editing and scene transitions are so bad. Lots of of scenes are just unnecessary.

Wow. I haven’t seen this one but I’m surprised it’s taken this long for you to find this franchise went too far over the top.

It’s just not fun anymore. It’s just ‘how many more explosions and (obviously greenscreened) stunts can we fit into two and a bit hours’.

The franchise used to be really fun and goofy. It’s disappeared so far up its own arsehole there’s just no enjoyment there any longer.

Never got into this franchise, but summed up where I am at with comic book films.

I had only watched my first "Fast and the Furious" movie this year. I've now watched the first six.It is an okay series...definitely overrated by some.

Part One: Really enjoyed it.
Part Two: A dogs breakfast...horrible.
Part Three: okay
Part four: okay
Part five: okay
Part six: Shitty....I believe the series jumped the shark here.

And just a reminder, part one was about street racers robbing trucks to steal DVD players.

Idris Elba literally has superpowers in this one.

I thought it was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in my life. The killer couldn’t have been more obvious and it wasn’t close to being tense. Rotten Tomatoes can be a joke but 7% rating was about right imo
