Ghost Busters Afterlife.
Good fun movie with a bunch of likeable characters and a really nice tribute at the end to Harold Ramis, the original Ghostbuster who died back in 2014. 7/10
Looking forward to the next movie Frozen Empire.

Rebel Moon - Part Two
There's an absolute pile on on imdb of people wanting to tear this movie apart but I liked it.
It's a remake of 7 Samurai / Magnificent 7 and a pretty silly one but the special effects and action are excellent. It's no worse than most of the Super Hero movies out there. 6/10
Sorry, those Rebel Moon movies are horrific lol

Yep, Hack Snyder, 300 aside, is a terrible film maker (but a seemingly nice guy, I'll watch his promotional stuff and enjoy it while knowing his movies are going to be cabbage).

It's no worse than most of the Super Hero movies out there.
No worse than Snyders superhero film, much worse than most others.

They aren’t great but Rebel Moon was as dire as it gets, how long did they spend on harvesting grain ffs??
His Justice League was the worst movie I saw the year it came out, so will have to see if Rebel Moon II gets that award this year.

They harvested grain for longer than Return of the Kings endless endings. But the storytelling at the table felt it took longer.

But, I can't complain about it too much, I watched the bloody thing helping the viewing figure for him on Netflix so I've contributed to more of the dross.

Im amazed nobody has made a "Furiosa" post yet.

I saw it yesterday. The movie is good. The cinematography is absolutely amazing, such a pleasure to look and listen to. The stunt work and action sequences are probably the best of the series. The young Furiosa is very good.

While I said the movie is good, it is not great. If you liked Fury Road (which I did), you will like this film. If you didn't like Fury Road, then I advise you don't spend money on a cinema ticket to see Furiosa.

Now for the negatives. I found Anya Taylor-Joy pretty average....a far cry from the impressive Charlize Theron performance which really stole "Fury Road" from Tom Hardy. Chris Hemsworth......he is no Toecutter, Wez or Immortan Joe.
Second negative (which I already knew coming in to watch the film)....no Max. People want to see the character that has graced our screen since the late 70s, not as much Furiosa (as great as the character was in Fury Road).
Lets hope the next movie has Max back.

3 out of 5 for me.

I'm the opposite of the bold. I enjoyed Furiosa much more than Fury Road. I thought Fury Road was extremely overrated when it came out.

I also prefer Taylor Joy to Theron.

I rewatched Fury Road after seeing Furiosa and stand by my thoughts. My biggest issue with Fury Road back when it came out was that it was less Mad Max I & II and more Mad Max III and I lean the other way, so Max not being in this one didn't bother me too much as the story has been moving away from Max centric since III.

The biggest issue when rewatching Fury Road straight after is even thought Furiosa was apparently conceived at the same time there appears to be some weird continuity going on. Furiosa says remember me to Immortan Joe at one stage - why would he not remember her from just yesterday in the timeline?

I'm glad they toned down the pole floating from Fury Road - that stuff was so stupid I think it's big part of why I wasn't on board with Fury Road as much as others were.

Unpopular opinion time: Heat is overrated. I give it a 6 maybe 7/10.

Always thought the same, I mean it’s a good enjoyable watch but never understood why most people go mad for it. It’s carried by De Niro and Pacino but the film itself isn’t anything special.

I feel like The Fugitive, released two years earlier, did everything better.

Bad Boys 4:

f**king fun movie. Massive action and the chemistry between the two leads is as funny as ever.

I remember when the first one came out it was fun as hell… admittedly I wasn’t old enough to watch it in theatres so had to catch it on VHS but this film feels similar.

not sure if they make a 5th but I’m down to watch it if they do… lol

I just watched the 3rd one a few nights ago, still holds up mostly if you like the franchise.

The Revenant - the visuals are very good, but I thought the movie was very slow, boring and predictable. It felt like I was mostly just waiting for it to end. When Leo reverted back to crawling a few times I groaned. Probably better off watching a Nat Geo doc if you want to see some Earth Porn.

Gladiator did it better.

Finally watched Dune Part 2.

Fantastic movie, probably the most lovingly crafted blockbuster since the LOTR Trilogy.

The radicalising of the Fremen was the most effective piece of fictional propaganda I've seen.

Beverley Hills Cop - Axel F
The first couple were a great balance of Comedy, Drama and great action but this one not so much. It's paint by numbers predictable with very little humour. Eddie Murphy is always likeable and seems to enjoy what he does and he delivers in this although at times his puffed up, possibly botoxed head can be distracting but not as distracting as Kevin Bacon's head which seems to be mounted on a skinny 10 year olds' body. Taylor Paige as Axel's estranged daughter is very good and Axel's old LA buddies Rosewood and Taggart, (Judge Reinhold and John Ashton) revive their roles after themselves being revived from near death in a nursing home someplace it appears. Axel's new LA pardner is played really poorly by Joseph Gordon Levitt with all the character and humour of a cement truck, he really deflates the whole movie every time he's on screen, terrible actor. 6/10

Most of the reports I've seen about this movie from people as well as reviewers have been positive. After seeing the sequel from Coming to America, Im certainly not expecting too much.

I saw "Just Mercy" with Jamie Foxx and Michael Jordan in it. Absolutely sensational film that certainly put me through the emotion merry-go-round through the duration. I will say this...it has certainly made me rethink my views of the death penalty. That is the power of movies for you.

ok full disclosure, my best mate made this film and I was involved in developing the script (and am in the credits!). But I only recently got to actually see it when it premiered in Australia (it’s been out in NZ for a while) and honestly really enjoyed it. If you like offbeat dark comedy stuff, give it a go, you can rent it for less than the price of a beer these days:
