Terminator: Genisys
Decent action movie.
The plot is a bit convoluted, but the action scenes are pretty well done. The comedic beats don't seem as out of place as the 3rd movie, but still don't feel right. The tone from the first two movies has changed so much - the first two were serious as f**k, and were incredibly violent. I understand why they tone down the violence to get a PG-13 rating, but the jokes are just unnecessary. Makes if not feel like a Terminator movie.
Emilia Clarke was fine (in terms of acting and "Daaamn she's fine!"), and Arnold was Arnold. Jason Clarke seemed to be having a good time playing John Connor. But Jai Courtney, as always, seemed like a plank of wood. No expression on his face except blank. I don't know why people keep putting him into their movies. He has no charisma. Hopefully he will be better as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad because he gets to keep his Aussie accent (wishful thinking, I know).
While not up to the incredibly high standards of the Cameron movies, this is entertaining enough.
7/10.
