What Movies Have You Seen III

I didn't know Deadpool was actually part of the X-men universe when I went to see it, I thought it was a piss-take movie like Galaxy Quest, but of course it's both.

Loved it.

Just rewatched The Town. Saw it at the cinema when it first came out 5 years or so ago. I was always a bit of a detractor of Affleck but he did really well with this film.

Also rewatched Face/Off. Still love this and I saw it at the cinema when I was 17! Dumb, dumb fun and Travolta was phenomenal after the transformation!

Oh and also Oceans 11 just so I could see the inside of Emmit's Pub in Chicago again. Got off the Blue Line the morning I arrived in Chicago and saw it and went in for a pint. It was just me and the bar man there and he started telling me about all the films it had been featured in... also the reason I rewatched Backdraft recently too!

The Hyena Road 9.5/10
Little known Canadian movie about a Sniper outfit in Afghanistan.
Probably because it didn't have the Clint name attached or the Hollywood hype
I enjoyed it more than American Sniper
Brilliantly made .
Excellent acting .
Great story .

Cage outdid him imo, but both were f*cking fantastic.
They just don't know how to do action movies anymore.

Continuing on the original SW trilogy.

ESB - It's even more obvious now why this is by far the best of all 7 movies.
The Lucas factor is the most minimal, we have actual script writers, direction and pacing.
Because of that, Ford brings his A game and goes up several gears.
His banter with Fisher was actual on-screen chemistry
Hamill improves a lot too, we are finally seeing 'characters' on screen.
Stands up brilliantly over time.

ROTJ - Wow f*ck me this is much worse than I remembered.
Han Solo rescue was overbaked but good, speeder chase decent, only the final showdown is really up there.
Rest is shit, the script, dialogue and acting is every bit as bad as the prequels.
The Ewoks are every bit as embarrassing as Jar Jar
Ford phoned it in hard, Hamill and Fisher were left out to dry as Christiansen/Portman were
Esp that bum clenchingly awkward scene where Luke reveals their family ties, it's just horrible.

ESB > ANH, TFA > (light years) > The Rest

The scene between Luke and Leia in the Ewok village is pretty bad. But I've got no problems with the rest of the movie.
I actually still like the Ewoks.

Trumbo, liked it but not great. Byran Cranston is very good though (of course), maybe a bit simplified about what went on.

I did like they way the cut old footage from the 50s and 60s with current actors, but didn't over use the effect.
