What Movies Have You Seen III

Just finished watching The Exorcist on NITV. The only other time I've seen it was at the cinema when it came out in 1974. Linda Blair was brilliant as was Ellen Burstyn. Blair was only 14 when it was made.

Keep an eye out for upcoming movies on NITV. They sometimes screen some real classics.

It was repeated again a couple of nights ago, i watched about 10 mins of it to see whether there were any edits, the crucifix scene was edited, you saw enough of it to know what was happening but it was edited compared to the theatrical release but at least there was still quite a bit of the scene left in unlike the first time it was aired on commercial TV where it was completely cut out as were many other scenes.

Was flicking the channels just before going to bed and 74 was screening The Towering Inferno, thought i just sit and watch 10-15 minutes of it as i have it on blu ray, a bottle of wine later i had ended watching the whole movie
Don't know whether it was the wine but i picked up a few faults but for when it was made the special effects really hold up even today and Paul Newman's blue eyes really stood out on this viewing. Paying for it today as i didn't get to bed till after 3 am but i really enjoyed watching it again.

It is absolutely worth checking out the tv show of "The Exorcist" if you have Amazon Prime. It has two series and the first series was bloody awesome. I stopped watching series two after two episodes though. I might give it another go at some point though.

On NITV last night was the parody of The Exorcist called Repossessed. Got a few chuckles out of it. Starred an older Linda Blair and Leslie Neilsen.

Was just reading up on it and they were going to make a third season of it but it got scuttled because of poor ratings. I would be curious to watch it some time.

Below is a blurb i read about the series.

Sadly, The Exorcist season 3 never came to be as it was canceled in 2018. The reason for the cancelation was simply low ratings. The Exorcist had great episodes but was the lowest-rated drama on any major network during season 1 but was given a second season due to critical acclaim and a cult fan base.Unfortunately, season 2's ratings dipped even lower, and not even its fans were enough to save it.

I'd rate season one the second best exorcism show/movie behind the original movie. I have not seen all of the spin off type movies after part two though (which was damn horrible...lol). Part three seems to have a bit of a cult following.

Yes i only watched Excorcist 2 -The Heretic once and that was enough, what a muddled movie, i haven't seen the the third one either.

Big Trouble 2002
Comedy Crime Thriller , Free on Youtube.
Tim Allen, Rene Russo (looking very nice), Stanley Tucci, Tom Sizemore.
Great little comedy with a big cast who all do their jobs perfectly. It's only 77 minutes long and flies by.
If you've nothing else to do this is a great way to pass the time. 7/10

Watched The Equalizer #3 .
Very enjoyable & they have basically stuck to the original storyline of his capabilities without turning him into some invincible Superman .
lol as opposed to John Wick which is so far over the top it’s a parody of the original .

Set in Sicily …awesome scenery… very good storyline .& they could probably make a 4th without exhausting the franchise.
8.5/10

Pearl. 6. Not as good as the first (X) and would only recommend for people who really liked the first

Saw X

I absolutely bloody loved it. If you were not a fan of the Saw movies before this film, I would not pay for a ticket to see this one.
It takes a different slant to the previous Saw films and did so to great effect. Apart from the original, my favourite of the series.

Killers of the Flower Moon. Went as a group of 4 and I gave it the highest rating with a 6.

Plenty of people walked out throughout the show and woman to my right slept for 2 hours.

Slow and long.

Story was interesting and acting good but could have done with some editing. Also I found I didn't really feel for any of the characters and there was zero tension.

Messaged with some people
who'd read the book (which is apparently far more historically accurate) and they left out a crucial part which imo changed the story.

Also think it should have been more her story, but doubt Leo's ego would let him play second fiddle

The Menu - black comedy/horror. Absolute must-see. Excellent in every way except unfortunately the main character's actress (Anya Taylor-Joy) is not super convincing, especially when she has to share the screen with Ralph Fiennes. She's not that bad I guess but not at his level.

Fall - it was ok. The acting was pretty good and I like the idea but some of it was a bit meh. Worth a watch probably

Agree with a lot of what you've written. It was such a disjointed movie and despite the running time everything felt rushed and I spent half my time trying to figure out who the characters were at any given time.

Agree it should have been her story, but I don't think it's Leo ego issue, it's Marty's movie, he decides the focus.

Hmm, since he's started his war on comic book movies he's released two stinkers (by his standards).

I'm definitely going to have to read the book.
