Skip the series, if you like to watch a bunch of mid looking women sitting around and talking it might be for you. They are even going to waste a gun actor like Mark Strong.

Finally watched Alien Romulus, hopefully the sequel Alien Paradise will tie in the events of Prometheus and Alien Convent, especially with the engineers which in my opinion would have been a better story to go with, unfortunately people wanted more aliens.

Oh dear....the "Home and Away" dialogue made me laugh. I might be the only person on Earth who has not seen the original Gladiator movie.......yet I've seen the boxing "Gladiator" movie with Cuba Gooding Jnr a few times....lol

Ahhh, ‘that’ Gladiator. The one with Warrant’s cover of ‘We Will Rock You’. I totally forgotten this film. Might have to dig it up.

I saw "Smile 2" today. It is definitely not a movie for all tastes but I loved it. If you liked the first one, you'd like this one. If you didn't like the first, you won't like this one either. I thought this was actually an improvement on the original. Like the first one with the underlying theme of mental illness, this one had an underlying theme of the perils of stardom.

Well worth the watch.

I thought Gladiator 2 was quite good. A few too similar in story beats to the first. Opening action scene and the colosseum scenes were the highlight, which makes sense for an action film. My standout was Pedro Pascal, really liked him in this.

Give them a go for sure. I will advise you that if you like the first, watch the sequel. If not, leave the sequel aside.

Oh yeah, they are on my radar and will eventually get to them! Just a bit annoyed I now know something that would've been a big surprise from a first watch.

Enjoy a good (or so bad it's good!) horror flick, especially where crazy practical effects are involved.

It was about 35 degrees here today (Brissie) so sat inside with the aircon and a brand new 55" TV and watched a couple of old Bogart movies, it's true what they say, they just don't make them like they used to. The acting, photography and the great scripts - some of the dialogue and the way it's delivered makes you smile from ear to ear, just sublime.
Key Largo 1948, starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G Robinson and Claire Trevor.
A Soldier, Bogart, heads to an old Motel in Key Largo in the Florida Keys to visit the family of one of the soldiers under his command who was killed in Italy (WWII), to pay his respects and finds the Motel has been taken over by gangsters. Edward G Robinson as the mob boss Johnny Rocco is superb as the archetypal 40's gangster. The tension is high as the Soldier and Rocco face off and to ramp things up a cyclone is about to hit. 9/10.

The Big Sleep 1946 starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Martha Vickers and Dorothy Malone.
People complain about the hard to follow story or the lack of a sensible resolution but honestly none of that matter, it's the ride that counts. So many great and unforgettable scenes and acting that still stands out today.
Bogie plays Raymond Chandler's gumshoe, Phillip Marlowe, hired by a rich dude to find his missing employee/ surrogate son but soon finds he's got a bigger story on his hands as well as the rich dude's two, very gorgeous but very wayward daughters. All the women in this are stunning, even the cab driver. 7/10
