Also with Alice In Chains, Metallica, Chris Cornell, Fear Factory and Social Distortion due to release new albums this year things are really looking decent for the second half of the year.

See, you just can't have AIC without Layne ...

Yeah agree.

Who's doing Vocals for AIC? Jerry Cantrell doesn't cut it as lead vocalist so i hope it's not just him.

William DuVall.

He's pretty good, but he obviously can't replace Layne.

They should have changed their name.

Opeth's "Watershed".

In Flames' "A Sense Of Purpose" went well, too.

I have to add Bullet For My Valentine's "Scream Aim Fire", too. Not a fan of theirs but this album was pretty damn good.

Also:

Averse Sefira - "Advent Parallax" is brutally awesome.

AIC was always more about Cantrell than Staley IMO. Cantrell did nearly all of the songwriting for the band and a lot of the vocal sound of AIC's work came from Cantrell's backing vocals.

Dig! - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Primary Colours - Eddy Current Supression Ring
Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
Seldom Seen Kid - Elbow
Flight of the Conchords - Flight of the Conchords

Radiohead would be there, but I just can't put the album in under 2008. I've fallen in love with the album all over again after watching "In Rainbows - From The Basement" which is available on iTunes. Just f*cking amazing...

Ofcourse, but without Staley their still a great band, just not one of the greatest.

Don't hold your breath on the Social Distortion album. It took them long enough to release their last album and Mike Ness has been touring solo a bit himself over the last year. Not sure when they'll find time to record the newie.

As for Alice In Chains; perish the thought. If it ain't got Layne Staley then it ain't got sh*t!

2008...hmm.
So far my favourites would be Watershed by Opeth, A Sense Of Purpose by In Flames and The Scarecrow by Avantasia.

Motley Crue's was actually alright, I didn't mind it!
I didn't have many expectations from the Offspring's new one, but I liked it more than I thought I would.
