Can the Moderator Delete these, sorry for doing this in an active thread

Why didn't you just open up a signature test thread, instead wasting space on this one??? Then we'd all know not to bother reading it.

BAY57? is that on the north hill?

i would seriously be all for this if not for wigs and t-shirts, i'd be more inclined to jump in as an adopted member at away games, as the girls and i already have our seats for home games.
Perhaps one of you swampies could mention extending the group to away games? a big travelling army like the old days?
I remember when Nikki first started taking me to away games with the big blue and gold army how much fun it was to be one of a huge group, chanting, singing, waving flags and making ourselves known. the same group made parramatta stadium such a daunting place to come to for the opposition...
who else would be in for this?

I'd be in for that. Sounds like fun and i LOVE being loud when it comes to cheering on the boys whether it be at home watching it on the telly or at the stadium.

Can anyone tell me how the Switch to Bay 56 went for the Parramaniacs?

Did the two bays work in together.
There didn't seem to be too many yellow wigs there, which was a disappointment.

Cheers,

The wigs were going AWOL... let Planet explain that :p

I was surprised there wasn't much extra noise at all from either bay 57 or 56....

I sit up in the terrace near halfway, and i heard diddly swat in terms of noise from the Nothen end of the ground.

The Burrow fans looked good, but were not heard. And the eels fans. there were a few rows of wigs, but that was about it.

Yeah I was in bay 55 and didn't hear a peep out of the maniacs, mind you, for the size of the burrow there wasn't much noise coming out of there either, although you could hear them on TV once or twice. I hate to say it but they really looked like a rent a crowd on the TV replays, guys just sitting there in yellow wigs occasionally waving flags when a try was scored.

The Swamp is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get a sponsor's name on TV. The Parramatta Club are promoting this as a way to get a supporters group together - GARBAGE.
They need to rent a crowd, stick them in silly wigs so the cameras will focus on them because they look stupid, and Mr. Sponsor is chuffed that he has his name on the TV.
From what has been written, appeares that some people have fallen for this "supporters group" and are too eager to get on their knees and suck hard.
The club is only interested in this as they have found a way to make money out of it, and will put a bullet in the head as soon as sponsors are not interested in it.

Sorry to say this, but the Souths fans showed what following the team is all about. Stand together, travel away from home, yell your guts out for your team - especially when they are behind, and after the game is over, get down to the pub and have the time of your life. This Parramatta "rent-a-supporter" group is a long, long way off from it.

You don't create a supporters group by giving them wigs and T-shirts. It's an embarrasment.

It is an embarrasment....they looked more stupid than I thought and none of them looked happy.

What i found mroe embarrasing for the Parra Fans is that out of the 11 thousand supporters there not one...not one could managed to start the most simplest of songs.... parra! Clap clap clap! You had to have a pre recorded crowd noise to get it going.

C'mon Parra fans!!! get organised! I met heaps of die hard proud parra fans at the Royal Oak afterwards who were excited about what we do.... it's really up to someon out there to get organised.

The Parra stadium people let you guys down too.... it's got a rep as the most disorganised worst stadium in Australia.

BTW...The Burrow travel to Melbourne next week. There will be at least 60 of us at Melb supporting our team.

Get rif of the clowns! a disgrace!

Very true. Parramatta Stadium has not been the same since they got rid of the Hills. Has destroyed the hard-core fans being able to get together, stand where they want, and really get behind their team. Hasn't helped with a Gestapo security team intent on throwing their fat weight around.

But never mind. We can now have a "supporters group" where Parra fans can wear yellow sponsored shirts and bright yellow wigs. Yaaaaayh. Here's a free ticket that we probably couldn't sell anyway. Woo Hoo.
Can't wait for the marketing wankers to invent a song that that the rent-a-monkeys have to start singing.

LOL @ Rent-a-Monkey...

There weren't as many Wigs as some went missing because distribution of them was not very well planned. As for marketing tools.. well, really, anyone who has ever purchased a jersey or other eels gear.. YOU ARE A MAREKTING TOOL!! dfference is... YOU PAY TO DO IT!!! I'm not going to argue about this.. I am more than happy to watch and cop abuse or ridicule..

BRING IT ON!!! BUT JUST REMEMBER!!!

GO THE EELS!!

Parramatta Stadium is the worst ground in the world I didnt feel like that I was at the Football. It used to be an alright stadium when they had the Hill but now it reaks in having no fun.

Hmmmm worst grounds come to mind, might have something to with the Wabbits looking like they got blinded by the headlights of a road train, same old same old for Souths

Well 2 years ago Parra Stadium at full capacity was the best ground to watch football at in Australia, except for a full SFS, which was a rarity. Now its just middle of the park, come on, if they just made the hills GA the place would be back to its best, well, best minus the big flags...

You want bad grounds? Try squeezing into the old Marathon Stadium, or surviving a trip to the bloody Showground, then there's Campbelltown and Leichardt, neither of which is too flash for watching the game. I'm sure you and your precious burrow will cop worse conditions and treatment than you got at parra stadium this weekend.

Every single point you made Godfather is true.
It IS an embarressment. But any idea to create a supporters group has got to be better than none at all.
What is a bigger embarressment is the fact the club has to play "recorded chants" just to get the crowd to make a bit of noise.
I'm not getting down on my knees for anybody.
I am supporting an initative by the club.

Do you have any better ideas??

I just think that you can't get a solid group of *permanent* supporters to be set up in the space of one game. Sure the Swamp was there at the first home game and did nothing much and same with the Rabbitohs game, but thats only two games. The Burrow has been around for a long time, and like someone said (sorrry I cant remember who  ) there's what 60 people going to Melbourne to support their team? The Swamp has only been around for two games. Still needs some time to get together methinks... :?

The Burrow were a rabble of 20 supporters last July. The Burrow Inc...registered the name and set up a committee with jobs to do. We get some support from the club but they are all negotiated like two professional companies coming to an agreement.

It's just a matter of a few people getting their act together.

If you examine our website you see that we put on a few activities and make The Burrow as much fun at the game and out of it. We try hard to keep it fun, give opposition supporters heaps (toungue in cheek of course) and generally aim to add some colour and spice at the grounds.

We just love our club and team....all it needs is passion and vision.

Clevo,

The Parraletics Started the same way in 1998 and got more and more people involved. I went to get the thing put together as a business but the members at the time felt it was inappropriate. Then by 2000, the whole thing fell apart. Some people started long term relationships which meant they could no longer attend while others decided to give it a rest after their Ego's had been stamped on. They had not lost any passion for their club but made a choice that something else was important in their lives. Either way I hope the burrow continues to work for you, but to tell you truly things may change.
