Let them learn their lessons at other clubs rather than ours. If we want to improve over the long term we need a steady, experienced set of hands.

Sure, it counts for something, but there is no substitute for coaching at an NRL level.

If I was in charge it would be one of the essential criteria when recruiting a coach.

He has done jack shit in his first year of coaching with a fairly decent squad.

What I like about Flanagan is:

1. Parra background that knows the systems when they were running well under Smith.

2. Experience and premiership winner.

3. Fantastic recruiter.

4. Looks like someone that’s doesn’t suffer fools.

5. Probably needs a change.
