No I'm not. The NRL can't scrutinise us anymore then any other team. The NRL has never caught anyone for cheating the cap. It has all been self reporting or inside whistle blowers leading them to the crumbs. We just had total imbeciles that put everything in the minutes reports.
...and a bunch of f**ksticks from the other faction happy to sell us down the river. Now we are in the hands of strangers obsessed with saving money and playing by the rules.

Agree though about the NRL. They couldn't catch a cold.

Point is, we are the mecca of the West. We are the epicentre of copious developments creating more and more business opportunities and we will have the best home Stadium in the land and we can't sell ourselves in a positive light, even with a great new and professional management team?

Agree. This should be what we aspire to. First step is getting the club back to a position where we can control our own destiny.

It needs to be said about the dysfunction of our previous board.
When Gurr got into the chair he put calls into a serious number of businesses re sponsorship etc. He said that despite follow up there were no incoming calls for 10 months.
As an example, 3 local businesses that I am aware of in my area withdrew their dollars as they could not afford their name to be associated with the cheating etc
2 had $50k p.a. deals and the other one who had also done some TPAs pulled out of a minimum $125k p.a.
That is close to 1/2 million $ over the past 2 years that the Seeward expose cost the club from the smallish businesses that I know.

Gurr with the help of BA held the club together, we need to stick strong as they did to ensure we are seen as a stable unit in the future.
The damage done by the previous admin is immeasurable in $ terms, no one likes the season we are having but sport is what it is. Massive highs and even bigger lows .

Yeah you must have. You should maybe get out more.
I get out plenty thanks mate - but your assertion that we have a great new and professional management team is way off the mark.

We have a CEO who has a strong finance background and hasn't run a football club since 2003.
We have a Corporate Sales team comprised of a former Managing Director of a sports marketing company (which he ran for 19 years and which ASIC has de-registered), a guy who is a former Manly Sea Eagles corporate account manager and a young guy who has 3 years of work experience in fan/member administration.

If I was a large corporate Head of Sponsorship, I wouldn't be impressed meeting any of these guys if they could even get in the door to be honest, let alone being confident in handing over large sums of my companies money to them. Add to this the product they are selling is still on the nose with corporate Australia and unless you were being sarcastic, you are just plain wrong.

Some have said BA is kidding himself when he said our effort was good. While I agree the year has been shit, defensively we haven't been to bad which is a good indicator of effort.

While there is plenty of things to fix, take out the shocking Manly game and we have only averaged 2.6 tries against us - which isn't bad!

Obviously we need to fix our discipline which is killing us with penalty goals.

The big issue is our attack - the last 2 games we had enough ball and field position to win.

Well if that's the case and I have no reason to doubt you, then not much has changed. We are still a shit run club. Therefore I will not expect to see any great improvements on the footy field for the foreseeable future. Maybe 2030 things may get better.

I don't ever expect us to be well managed. Amazing, inspiring leaders go and work for google or apple, not Parra FFS!

There are 15 other clubs. Most of them seem to be managed a lot better than us. It's not much to expect to be as well managed as the other clubs

I honestly think you merkins will get up this weekend... Could of arguably won both games against us (Penrith) If shit went your way.. f**king horrible on the weekend but most teams are when they play in Canberra... You fellas are playing well in patches just the bad patches are f**king horrendous ... At home vs Manly think you boys will get it done... Wouldn't read to much into the earlier game of the season against manly... Need to f**k off t-rex as well..

You swear a lot for an old guy.

True. I'd settle for average.

It was all the Parra is the epicentre of the world, we should be a powerhouse stuff that I was moderating.

We may at present be a "shit run club" but believe it or not there is still hope on the horizon.
People within the club are calling out the issues - making sure the problems and concerns are heard by the right people. There is talk about some big changes in how we manage our junior 'stars', there is talk about changes to our recruitment and retention goals, there is talk about ways to do things differently and all this talk is positive.

The biggest issue to overcome is balancing the financial needs of a top class footy club with the fact that less than 24 months ago, our board was booted out and most of them and our CEO were found "not fit and proper" to run the club. The only things that can bring you back from that position are time and performance (and I don't mean football performance) - I mean corporate and fiduciary performance.

In the meantime, the show must go on and so it will. BA will keep trying his guts out within the constraints he has been given to get a competitive football team on the paddock each week. He will work to improve the pathways for our up and coming stars like Mahoney, Brown, etc. and he will give it everything he has. In fact, it is this dedication to both the team and the organisation that sees him with one less assistant this year and hopefully that will soon change.

Stay strong @TheRam - it is supporters like all of us on here that bleed and breath for the club that will help make it stronger.

TLDR: f**kem, we're stuffed.

The NRL are kidding themselves if they think their spot checks are going to achieve anything without a whistle blower.

What club is silly enough to enter illegal player payments into their book keeping transactions ?
You want a hint?

I actually dont believe in the Parramatta business area is big == lots of TPAs for Parramatta Eels

I think companies who want to throw any decent amount of coin into a sports sponsorship dont do it because theh can see the stadium if they walk down the road a little

Why do they do it? What benefit does a wealthy benefactor receive? And why is it that Parramatta seems unable to compete in this area despite being a growing business district?
