It is just in the rules. Did you not read the 33rd rule in the book of -
Being a 50-50 team.
It clearly says you will not have a loss anymore then 50 points in season.

I mean you cant just make up the rules as you please FDA. Without rules there is chaos.

I can forward you a copy if like.
I have a feeling that your copy of ''the rules" is just a picture magazine.

Why does 50-50 not include 50 point losses? If we end up with somewhere near 13 wins and 13 losses and similar for and against that's 50-50 mate!

Are we a top 4 side when we win by a big amount? No. Just like we aren't a bottom 4 team when suffer a big loss to a top class side.

I think all four sides currently running 5th to 8th could all still potentially run in the bottom 4 though. Maybe Sharks unlikely though.

There are not many coaching options out there, but one I would consider is Brad Fittler.
He has a great network with representative players, he is excellent at media these days (I was very impressed with how he promoted origin last year), he is a western sydney boy with links to the Eastern suburbs which we need...I would put Brad in the "please consider" basket.
At a minimum he would be great in terms of promoting the club something BA is a total failure at.

They could but I don't think they will. We wont.

I think Titans and Dogs will be bottom 4, which still leaves two spots available. I think anyone outside of Roosters, Storm and Souths could fill those two spots. There won't be alot across the season between 4th and 14th for mine.

I can't see anyone outside of the three listed above winning the comp. The rests Premiership is finishing Top 4.

He does need to go. He has had his time.

But when he does go people need to use their heads and realise that we will still be a 50-50 football team.
Did you make a call ? Well done Gaz. I’m proud of you. For once you even did it without being sarcastic. Imagine we start winning again? Are you going to borrow my flip flops?

I put $50 on Sharks. Once Graheme,Woods,Moylan,Johnson are fit its a nice side.
Xerri gives them x factor amd the 2 hookers and Nikora will get better as season goes on. The backline is sensational. Morris is also in form.

Not a bad choice, but with Origin and his cushy media commitments, doubt he needs or wants the 24/7-365 days grind of coaching an NRL side, let alone a side like ours

True. Though I think he will tire of origin in the next few years. Maybe offer him a similar role to what Gould had in Penrith. A figure head media type.

How does that fix our supposed coaching problem?

Well one of the problem I see with our coach is not only is he not a particularly good coach but he is terrible with the media and promoting our club.
Fittler I believe would knock the promotions out of the ball park. He likes talking to the media, the media respect him, he says interesting things, he has a huge profile while Brad Arthur has zero profile and based on what he has done with NSW he understands that the coach should use the media to promote games and attendance and such things.
In my opinion Arthur should never do media. He demotivates the fan base.

It isn't the fan base who need motivating on game day.

True but we need it through the week.
2 days ago I was a lock for the Thursday night game v Penny (I have been to every game there ever so far, travelling down from Newcastle).
Now I am having massive doubts.
Big BA could use the media over the next 10 days convincing me why I should go. Instead he will use it to put me to sleep.

Not really. You are more likely to find better candidates that are current assistants in first grade or in the super league.
Thanks, that was the impression I got. It doesn’t seem like anybody stands out like, say, Garth Brennan did a few years back (and in any event, look how he’s gone in the NRL).

Are there any legitimate coaching options coming through the NSW or Qld Cup systems at the moment?
The following 7 coaches are unemployed since their last coaching gig sometime in the last 2 years.
McFadden
Barrett
Cirialdo
Griffin
Flanagan
Henry
Taylor

Take your pick...

Not a huge amount to get excited about there, other than possibly the one bloke who’s unlikely to be allowed to coach again.
