Which NBA team do you support and Why?

The Timberwolves.

Why? Because of Kevin Garnett. The league MVP this year. He is an amazing player with so much heart who LOVES the game. They have a fantastic coach who does not give up. They care about their fans. They REALLY work together as a team.

KG truly is amazing. He was on the cover of ESPN the Magazine and he refused to be pictured unless they included Spree and Cos with him on the cover.

I also love the fact that Charles Barkley HATES the Wolves!

Besides - I live in Minnesota - How can I NOT love my Timberwolves?

Game 1 didn't go so well for KG, MysteryGirl. I hope the Wolves can come back, but I'm afraid they don't match up well with the Lakers.

I agree, Steve.
When Kobe's on his game and Shack actually MAKES free throws (he's usually like 52% from the free throw line - he was at 82% of Friday) - there is no beating the Lakers.

I guess 12 hours from now I'll be cheering or tearing. I'll be back to tell y'all about the highlights (although I'm sure that most of the aussies could care less about the game...lol)

Slightly random, but it's the off-season and I'm bored.

You guys know that I obviously support the Lakers. I like to think that my following off the team co-incided with the beginning of the Slava Medvedenko era. In reality, I remember when I started high school I had a friend who was a massive Lakers and Kobe fan. His man crush for the great man eventually wore on me.

I've always felt slightly conflicted as a Lakers fan, because my origins are probably that of a bandwagon fan, something I've always despised and given sh*t to other people for being. f**k it. Kobeeeeeeeeeee

I follow the Spurs, as the Pistons as my second team.

Ben Wallace is my fav NBA player.
How times have changed? I think that was 6 or 7 years ago. As a current rule of thumb I don't follow an NBA team due to the constant transfers of players.

When I first started following NBA I followed the Spurs basically because I follow Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League and I kinda followed Tim Duncan when he was at Wake Forest then I followed the Pistons when they had Billups-Rip-Prince-Sheed-Beast.

If I had to pick a team now it would be hard to pick between Thunder [KD, Westbrook and Uncle Jeff], Nets [Lopez, T-Murph and Harris] or Pacers [Granger, Hibbert and Collison]. I like to start off with the underdog type franchise.

Now I tend to follow players instead of teams, NBL on the other hand....now that's a different story.

Money, George Shinn the owner wanted a new arena as the Charlotte Coliseum (built in 1988) was big but didn't have the corporate facilities newer NBA arenas had. It was also a long way out of town and Shinn wanted an arena in downtown. Also note that he started his new arena campaign only a few years after the Coliseum was built plus the city hated Shinn. I read about sexual harrassment suits and putting up ticket prices. He didn't get what he wanted so he moved. He was also about to pull the pin on leaving New Orleans for OKC after Hurricane Katrina and the fact that the Hornets played the majority of their home games in OKC but the NBA put a stop to it.

History says the NBA admitted the Charlotte Bobcats and the city almost immedietly passed a resloution for a new arena to be built downtown and a bloody good one if I may say so.

Atlanta Hawks.

Three words why: Human. Highlight. Film.

To this day I have never seen another player so regularly and viciously throw down dunks.

Celtics. I started following again (loved it when I was in high school) around 2004 and I picked the Celtics based on the fact that the Dropkick Murphys are from Boston.

The mighty Pistons, was originally a fan of the Jazz because of the Malone/Stockton combo but then I decided to follow a team properly. Being a big fan of the Bad Boys and tough defensive teams the Pistons became my favs when they started building their roster in the post Hill era acquiring Big Ben, Rip and then Billups & Sheed.

Also like the Bobcats my underdog team (now better than the Pistons haha).
