Players we should be going after:
- Widdop: composed player with great kicking game. Would compliment Brooks and help guide him in his development. Also kicks goals.
- Beau Scott: Surely can't be happy playing on the bench. If Moses f**ks off to Eels then we should get Beau Scott mid year + 2018. Chee-Kam, Marsters and Aloai can all learn from him and will be able to step up once he retires. If we can't get Scott then we should chase Ethan Lowe
- Mautilino: Hits like a truck this fella. Whether Woods re-signs or not, we need him
- Re-sign MM, Tedesco, Nofa, Big Ava. Maybe Idris if his form continues to improve. If Woods doesn't re-sign then try and chase J Graham

Big no to Reynolds or Foran. Reynolds will not compliment Brooks game and Foran will just end up with off field issues. Chase Widdop hard!

I reckon in priority we need the following:-

1. A half that can manage a game
2. A winger
3. An edge forward
4. A centre

I'd be happy with retaining the guys we have and getting the first 2 but we've signed McQueen so that gives us on edge forward.

I think Chee-Kam, Suli, Lawrence and Idris can round out our edges with McQueen if we get a quality winger.

We desperately need a smart half. Brooks hasn't looked to be NRL quality for a while and if he is going to get to the required level I think he needs a quality player to help him.

Im 95% with you BrotherJim - my only disagreement is that I would be nearly as happy with Reynolds as I would with Widdop. They both would bring different things to our team.

Regardless - we need a massive cleanout - and I just want to get rid of this crap also-ran culture. After last weeks capitulation these guys should have been embarrassed with themselves and they didnt look it after the game. Mediocrity for so long has been acceptable and we need to clean it all out.

Now and interestingly, Newcastle have just raised their hand on Floran - where does that leave Hodkinson? Ive said from the beginning he would be perfect for us. But in terms of a half, I would be equally happy with him, Widdop or Reynolds. Regardless, we need to make a headline signing shortly to show the other off contract players we are serious, before we yet again miss the bus.

The best thing he could do was get away from that and move closer to family.

Regarding your 2nd paragraph,i remember back in Farah,Marshall,Beau Ryan days.
After a defeat Farah use to get pissed off with Bo Diddly Ryan and Marshall texting their mates about where they were going out to that night..
So the losing culture was there then....think thats about 2010 or around there.

All of those are realistic.

Apparently we are in talks with Matulino. Beau Scott could surely be locked down for this year if Parra are desperate for Moses to get there.

I think Ava is already signed past 2017 isn't he? Matty Mc, Nofo and Teddy are priorities IMO. The Dogs may be out of the market for a half if this young Frawley fellow continues to impress.

Widdop will be the hardest to lock down out of the above. I'll be stoked if we land either him or Foran.

Won't really have to make many tackles on the wing. People on here bang on about letting go of JAC and Koro but in all seriousness they had/have massive issues with defense and hands though they are quick and great finishers, something we need.

Mate Hodkinson is a firm No in my books. Have you watched any Knights games the past couple of years? He adds absolutely nothing.

He comes across as a composed half with a solid kicking game but he's a myth. His kicking game is rubbish and he has zero running game. Good goal kicker but that's it.

He was voted by our forum as best player in 2015 (weekly 1, 2 ,3 voting). Hasn't played this year due to surgery but is 50/50 for this week. Last year he was inconsistent. Overall Definitely one of our best players and world class but also had a few issues with behavior and attitude. He asked for a release a year or so ago when club was (more of) a mess. It was declined.

Our props aren't great other him and consistent lillyman. Add in no big bodies in other forward positions our pack has lacked grunt and effectiveness for a few years.

The cliche of warriors monster forward back should have died 5 + years ago but dumb azz posters and commentators still trot it out. Probably one of the, if not the, lightest pack in the comp.

If we manage to keep Teddy and lose Woods we should still be able to sign a couple of decent players. The two on my wishlist are the following:

1. Gareth Widdop - We desperately need an experienced half who can manage a game. He will come cheaper than a Foran or Cronk and he's also a goal kicker, which we also desperately need.

2. Dane Gagai - This guy is a machine, one of the strongest pound for pound players in the game and is solid as a rock yet he can break a game open when needed. He's the best centre on the market.

Aside from those two we do need to sign another prop to replace Aaron Woods and it looks like we're going to nab Ben Matulino but I'd also go after Sam Tagataese, he's not your marquee prop but he'll come cheap enough. Could be a bargain seeing as he's currently playing ISP.

Other notable mentions would be David Mead, Tyrone Roberts, Brendan Elliot, Tim Lafai, and Paul Carter. All of which would be affordable.
