I was over inflating prices to make the point that it is affordable to buy a lot of quality players to not only make out NRL side competitive, but give us very good depth as well.

700k for Guerra is not overs. He is an absolute weapon and is pretty much exactly what we need.

500k for tupou is ridiculous

I think the club has to take it's time and go out and get smart buys. I don't want to get superstars who rarely perform up to their pay grade.

I have no idea who specifically to get but heaps of clubs will have players that aren't getting a look in or are getting screwed because they've gone after superstar players for top dollars. We need to pick up those players in positions where we are weak.

A half, an outside back or two, a backrower and then depth signings. Just make us competitive week in and week out.

If Roosters have got Tedesco, then should we go after Dugan?

And should we go after J.Reynolds and/or Widdop?

Widdop but I'm guessing we will get Shaun Johnson and I'd be happy with that. I certainly wouldn't mind Reynolds either. ( I didn't know until now it is possible for me to sit on the fence and cover at least three directions.)

You guys know I bang on about culture.
Winning culture needs to be imported.
The Dogs and the Chooks now hve to clear a significant amount of salary cap space. And they both have winning cultures.

Our recruitment team has a massive job ahead of them, because as it stands now we cant field a full team for next year.

Ivan plays a shrewd game - lets home we get some signing news soon.

This is what I'd be looking at for quick wins. I'd also be looking everywhere though for players that want a chance and will bust a gut.

i suppose its ok to wish for players like Cronk,Widdop,Johnston and Dugan.
But what if they DONT want to come to us?
If that happens we will trot out a team in 2018 that might not win a game all season.
Ivan has his work cut out from now till start of 2018 season.

We need to try use some of the young guys this year and then sign a couple of experienced players and use the experienced players in a way to get a new culture happening and let it fall down to the young guys.

A cronk or widdop would be ideal. And sign like 4 good young forwards hopefully 3 front rowers so we can have a bigger bench and impact.

According to nrl.com, a few of the players listed above have re-signed.

Chad Townsend has extended his contract at the Sharks for a further three years the club announced on Friday.

Melbourne Storm have strengthened their forward pack for the future with Christian Welch and Felise Kaufusi committing to the club.

Not only will David Mead start the match against the Rabbitohs tonight after Jordan Kahu was withdrawn with a groin issue, he has some big news off the field.

The Panthers have re-signed young Fijian international Viliame Kikau on a two-year deal, keeping him at Penrith through to the end of 2019.

I just realised that there are a few former Tiger's on that list.
Benji Marshall
Manaia Cherrington,
Chris Heighington,
Eddy Pettybourne
Blake Ayshford
James Gavet
Bodene Thompson
David Gower,
Sitaleki Akauola

Would have a few of them as NSW Cup backup and they'd all offer more than the likes of Rankin, Lovett, Edwards & Milone

Does anyone know if nofo can play fullback? If so, grab a couple of decent wingers for the price of a top line fb. Reynolds to pair with brooks in the halves mautilino to replace woods. Bring bodene thompson back. Grab guerra and i think we would have 1 of the best packs in the comp. Brooks will have a good platform to operate, which he has never had, and we will be challenging for the comp in the next couple of years.
