Finally a replacement for woods. That was easy

Now f**k off

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/...tchup-with-david-klemmer-20170425-gvrty9.html

Woods hasn't signed with the Bulldogs. He will most likely end up in Belmore, but a week ago was still undecided about whether he would stay at the Tigers or commit to the Bulldogs.

Then the club imposed its deadline. Some believe the club had no choice in order to plan for the future. Woods saw it as a slap in the face.

It's a sad predicament given Woods likes new coach Ivan Cleary and believes in the vision he has for the club.

Unfortunately he might not be around to see it come to fruition. If he wants to stay a Tiger for life, all he has to do is ask and the contract will be put back on the table.

But he's been hurt by the club's ultimatum, so much so he chose to ignore some of the Tigers' hierarchy in the sheds after their win against the Bulldogs on Sunday.

This article also says we are chasing TMM but geez Woods looks more and more like a complete scumbo. Firstly he screws us around. I also reckon he has signed or at least agreed to terms with the Dogs but he is trying to make out it's all our fault.

I thought he was good last week and on that performance I'd keep him but at the same time that performance was full of Woods specials especially letting the other guys take the tough hit-ups and Woods rolls off the back.

I just think both Woods and Tedesco have handled this whole contract situation like complete and utter dogs.

Im hearing the real number on Matulino is just under $500k.
Which is more than fair for an international hard-as-nails prop.
We replace Woods with a harder runner for half his dollars.

Yeah me too, $700k is wide of the mark, considering our offer to Woods was $600k + $150k TPA.

Gordon is getting old but if he chipping in at the back, defensively sound and turning 4 into 6 at around 85-90% of the time he's a good interim replacement.

The Tigers would do well to sign Lolohea.

Plays every position in the backline equally well, He's one of them players that is kind of hurt by his ability to shift from position to position, but he is a competent fullback, a good defensive centre and a decent half and also can play wing. Just like Rankin, but good at all these positions.

Every successful team has this kind of player

There's been some interesting points made about the vacancies at 5/8 & FB. I'm still very keen and hopeful that we get Josh Reynolds. I read a few posts suggesting he won't compliment Brooks but I disagree - I think he'd be perfect for Brooks. Reynolds at 28 is mature and understands his game perfectly and imo won't try to overplay his hand. I think Brooks can build his game and role as the "game manager" and Reynolds can do what he does best which is play what is in front of him...he's a ball runner, kick & chase, he can earn a repeat set...he's a solid defender (he's one of the best defenders of any of the halves in the game) and most of all he's a week in / week out competitor. I think his attitude alone is worth the money!
As for Fullback - I wonder whether Cleary does see TMM as a possible FB option? It's an interesting topic. As for Edwards...He's only 21 and as far as stature goes he should be fine. He's 183cm (6') and 93KG's which is bigger than TMM @ 180cm (5'9") and 90KG - Tedesco on the other hand is also 180cm and weighs in at 93KG, so in terms of size there wouldn't be an issue either way. Also you'd think that TMM would add 2 - 3KGs in his next pre-season. Edwards played Junior Kangaroos in 2016 so he's obviously got some ability. He also has speed and starred for Penrith in this year's 9s tournament. He is under contract for next year but Penrith are obviously over-stocked in certain areas and maybe facing cap issues given the salary cap not rising to the level many clubs expected.

Yes, we need a grub and here's hoping that his work ethic rubs off.

Just needs to get the tripping out of his game, take on a mentor role for Brooks, encourage his team mates so they all play for the 80 minutes.

@ 180cm (5'9") - since when did 180 cm convert to 5' 9".

I'm around 177-178 cm and it converts to around 5' 10 &1/2".

Anyway, the height and weight figures on club & foxsport websites are total bullshit.

I remember when Ben Barba was at Canterbury, scored a try and fox listed his height at 178 cm and weight at 95 kgs - total and utter bs, he would have been lucky to be 170 cm & 80 kgs.

Allegedly on the outer at Penrith. Wonder how he'd go at fullback?
He's welcome to return to concord.Im sure we can find a spot for a humble & talented te Maire to replace the wanka for the rest of this season where he can keep the no.6.warm until the grubs arrival.

You're right....
I must've hit some wrong buttons on the Google height converter;

Updated Conversion
5 feet 11 inches = 180.34 centimeters

Talented kid. I'd take him for this year with an option for next year. Taking into account also that while McIlwrick is doing the job comfortably at the moment, perhaps we're looking with a view to play the grub at hooker?

Will make sense once TMM is confirmed as here or not.

My mistake as I certainly didn't mean signing te Maire just for this season. We want depth in all positions & it won't surprise if in '18 te Maire finds a home at fullback for us if he returns to concord.

So for next season we will have
1 -
2 - Nofoaluma
3 -
4 - Suli
5 -
6 - J.Reynodls
7 - Brooks
8 - Matulino
9 - McIlwrick
10 -
11 - McQueen
12 - Lawrence
13 - Taylor

A fullback, centre, winger and prop would be awesome

We are looking at Milne (Centre) and Packer (prop)
So far we've spent 750k on Reynolds, apparently 700k on Matulino and 400k on McQueen

Leaves us around 1.5 million. Milne would be around the 250k mark at the most excessive while Packer would be 300k again at the absolute excessive, which means we'd still have close to a million left to spend on a fullback and some depth.

TMM wouldn't be too expensive and is solid depth.
