5th Tackle reporting that Teddy has backflipped on his deal with Roosters and will sign with Eels. Could be going immediately with a straight swap for Clint Guthertson

Didn't this all start from a post on the Eels forum from a new account/first time poster?

Uncle Nick would have Isaac fitted for some cement shoes if he did it to him again.

I think the consensus of Warriors fans is he is very talented, full of potential and has been poorly coached by Mcfadden and disregarded by Kearney, The thing to remember is good players can get demoted from first grade and not because they are deficient in any way. Look at ET at the Panthers.

I am not going to tell you I have watched every Warriors game in the last 2 years, but I have seen a few and had a wrap on Lolohea for a while and I think IC could get him to where he needs to be. I have not seen any hesitation under the high ball (But there was a trend last year to let them bounce) and his defense at the back and in the front line is good, he may need some work reading the play if in the outside backs, but hell our current outside backs cant do that now.

The ET comparison is apples and oranges. ET got demoted because he was deemed too small/not aggressive enough for the new coach. Nothong to do with work ethic and ability.

Yes Cappy messed around alot with Lolohea, but that doesn't excuse the faults in Lolohea's game, the biggest one being his refusal to put his body on the line, poor defense, decision making etc. A change of clubs will not be the magic fix many are hoping for, he's a project that will need some serious work.

Don't get me wrong, he'll still do some magic fantastic things, it will just be mixed in with some things that will make you shake your head.

Basically you'd be getting another Naqaima but with more potential.

I'm starting to get very keen on Connor Watson as a replacement fullback. He's only 20, lightning quick and has all the skills as well.
I've said previously, while not bashing the young blokes, we had a lot of them and most not very successful I believe its time to sign men, not boys for the time being until we settle into a (hopefully) top side.

Not comparing the two players at all. The point was that good players can find their way to reserve grade thru no lack of ability but by circumstance. You seem to agree with this point.

On Lolohea's defense I believe it may be more related to attitude, which is no excuse and may actually be more reason for concern, but word is he was promised first shot at 5/8 and then Foran was signed. When this happened he dropped his lollies.

My hope is that IC can bring him along.

We're on the same wave length but coming from different angles I think.

For me ability is both mental and physical and Lolohea has shown to lack the mental talent so far. It's not circumstance with Lolohea like it was ET, it's largely been his own doing.

Defense is definitely an attitude thing and his has been lacking. Might take awhile for some of his lazier habits to get knocked out of him though.

So the 2018 side so far (confirmed signings only)
1 -
2 - Nofoaluma
3 -
4 - Suli
5 - Watene-Zelezniak
6 - Reynolds
7 - Brooks
8 - Matulino
9 - Liddle
10 - Sue
11 - McQueen
12 - Lawrence
13 - Taylor

14 - Felise
15 - Aloiai
16 -
17 -

McIlwrick is off contract, as is Idris and Grant.

Probably should hang onto Grant as a depth prop given our stocks are low there.
Pick up Packer and move Sue to the bench

Need a centre and a fullback still.Lolohea at centre would be good and Johnston at Fullback a possibility.

Is there a goal kicker in there? I would be interested to see how Nofo went at FB.

Where did I say that? I was pointing out the fact we already have a sublime five eight in renoylds for next year

if tui signed mid season, he'd be capable of filling the 5/8th role till next season.

but apparently josh reynolds is a superior 9 anyway lol

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of promising young forward Alex Twal for the next three seasons.

The new deal will see the powerhouse 20-year-old join Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2020 season.

A junior representative standout, Twal has already featured for the Junior Kangaroos and NSW U/20s in his career, and was named in the 2016 Holden Cup Team of the Year after a superb season with Parramatta.

The Parramatta City Titans junior has spent the last two seasons as part of the Eels’ extended first-grade squad, with his strength and strong work rate adding further depth to Wests Tigers forward pack next season.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said he looked forward to working with Twal in 2018 and unlocking the full potential of his game.

“Alex has experienced great success as a junior and is a player of true potential,” said Cleary. “We look forward to Alex being a strong part of the future here at Wests Tigers.”

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the signing was positive for the club.

“Alex is a talented young man and we look forward to welcoming him to the club,” said Pascoe. “He joins at a time when he can make an impact on the club and take his game to the next level.”

Twal will join Wests Tigers for the start of pre-season training in late 2017.
