Sounds like you missed the events of 1992.
Every non raider fan knows there's a questionmark on everything acheived in the early 90s. Now that Raiders era was one of the greatest in NSWRL/NRL history, but in terms of being legitimate, there's a question mark and with good reason too.
Of course he did. He only jumped on the souths bandwagon 6 months ago.
1. This has nothing to do with Souths.
2. For the last time, WHAT f**kING BANDWAGON. No premiership in 40 years, THAT IS NOT A BANDWAGON. It is pathetic to call any Souths fan a bandwagoner. Wait until we win a premiership, then every fan that buys a jersey or a membership for the first time in their life, that's a bandwagoner, you stupid merkin.

But it has something to do with rugby league, a sport you have only recently embraced and know very little about.

I am not calling anyone a bandwagoner except you sh*t for brains. You hopped on the bandwagon when you heard about russell crowe and you'll hop off as soon as they struggle again or when the afl manipulates the competition again to make the swans do well.

Can only speak for myself.

Got kicked out, got fake fans, sold out even though the fake fans hated super league.

Ultimate hypocrites.

Love Rusty, the private owner, but protested against private ownership.

Ultimate hypocrites, are souffs fans.

lol :crazy::crazy:. mate it's not "revisionist" history when that's exactly how the history happened.

No it was revisionist history because the Raiders salary cap breach was not deliberate cheating but poor management. The squad was assembled legally.

For starters the salary cap was only introduced in 1990. To accuse the Raiders of cheating in say the same class as the Storm is outrageous. Also the 1994 side was perfectly legal.

It doesn't matter if it is deliberate cheating or not, if they breached the salary cap the team was still assembled illegally, otherwise it wouldn't have breached the salary cap and that is all there is to it!

No one is accusing the Raiders of deliberate cheating, and as proven the 94' side was perfectly legal. The 1990 side though was still "illegally assembled".

Even though the side was technically assembled before the salary cap was introduced?

Technically, it wasn't illegally assembled but illegally maintained. But still a breach.

Through a poorly thought out bonus system. The Raiders did "cheat" the cap but it was not on the level of other recent examples of it. Thus to accuse the Raiders 1990 side of being "illegally" assembled is revisionist history.

Well then it doesn't change the fact that it was still an illegal team. The rest is for other people to argue.
I don't begrudge them winning a premiership there, they would have done it anyway regardless; and as pointed out poor management led to this being the case.

The answer to that excellent question is once. They have made the finals series once since the salary cap came in (which was 1990)

How many times have Souths made the semis since the start of the salary cap? Lol

In 2007 we finished 7th, in 2008 14th, 2009 10th, 2010 we finished 9th. Which is an average of 10th over those 4 years.

In the 4 years before that we came 15th in 03, 15th in 04, 13th in 05 and 15th in 06. Which is an average of...15.

An average of 15th (or last) before the new ownership, an average of 10th since then. We're rapidly improving and over the next 4 years I could easily imagine us averaging a top 4 finish. We're on the way up, too many other clubs are on the way down and that's why their fans are haters, their hate comes from jealousy. It's a sign of respect really. Even the haters sense the impending greatness.

You're proud of the fact that you finish an average of 10th every year :?

Well I guess if you aim low you have a better chance of succeeding in those aims.

I am far from jealous of Souths, I also fail to see the impending greatness. I am also still waiting for you to list your top 17. To scared to to list them? Type them out, they are just another team.

No the word "proud" wouldn't be the right word, of course I'd rather we come first every year but we were starting from a very very very low floor, we had a long way to go to just become competitive, let alone excel. But I'm glad we're heading in the right direction, I'd rather go from an average of 15th to an average of 10th than the other way around.

As for the last 4 years, mediocrity isn't fun, and last year was bitterly dissapointing (especially after being 3rd halfway through the year) but there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic, and I'm (as you all know) very confident about the next couple of years. And if the cap increases by a million or two after 2012 as it should there's no reason why we can't keep the core of this team together. Let's not forget, when Souths win premierships we win them in bunches. I bet somebody, and I stand by it, we're going to win the most premierships of any team this decade.

Poor souths, no wonder Bunniesman doesn't like the salary cap. Hasn't worked too well for the Rabbits. I guess there is no cure for being crap.
