Who hates Wagon?

Agreed. Rubbish thread.

Watch the 2001 DVD and you will assume Wagon was almost our best attacking player that year. I kid you not.

Defence has always been his strength and anyone who saw him single handedly mark Darren Lckyer in a qualifying final we lost in 2000 would agree it was one of the best pieces of sustained defensive tagging of a great player ever seen.

Huge club man, and one of the tough men in the side who provide a lift to team mates.

Ceratinly been less consistent in recent years, and gets too high in attack which affects his penetration with the ball sometimes.

But hate him, no chance.

this player just really frustrates me - how the hell did he play for queensland? what has he ever done? he doesn't even have that much talent and is really a waste of space. a junior would be better for the team than this guy.

considering you were the one playing with him, maybe you just made him look good?

ps. and stop using JT's name in vain

have you actually ever watched a game of footy, JT?

I actually reckon Wags is now my fav player. Tough call, but I'm leaning that way.

Obviously doesnt take much to impress you. 1st Johnny, now wags.

Im guessing you voted for Casey Chambers too?

Wagon has been great for Parramatta since he joined us from Saints. Tough, consistent and versatile, he has always been there and given his all for the team.

This year will be interesting to see how he gets used, especially with so many young guys coming through, but the young ones coming through could definitely do worse than to learn a thing or two from him.

the locks should be Widders and Chad Robison and drop wagon.

and rember when he came back from injury he stuffed up the eels defence.
Like in the final when he cuased a gap in the defence for the cowgirls to score.

I cannot believe a Parra fan (supposedly) would start up a thread about a Parra player and use the word "hate" in it.

Absolute rubbish thread.

wags is a good, solid, valuable player but I really don't rate him as a leader.
when things are not going well, he's a rabbit caught in the spotlight.

his brain explosion in the semi (that was more costly than Paul Carriage) shows that he panics under fire.
time to give the leadership to someone else.

Give up JT.

He is a protected species in here.

He could turn around, run the wrong way, put the ball on the try line and let the opposition score - and there would still be people defending his actions.

Believe me, you are ](*,)

(I agree though - hate is a very strong word. Maybe "who doesnt rate", would have been a better thread heading)

I must say, he's second arguement is much better and more constructive than his first.

A few errors is no need to hate the guy though, everyone makes erors in the game.
Guru is one that loves the odd brain explosion, Burty has his fair share, Timana has gone missing in defence a few times, Benny had a shocker against the Cowbies, Morris often drops the ball, Timmy makes mistakes, Caylo and Vella often drop the ball as do Peek, Stringer... etc.

C'mon now, the team should not rely on one player to win/loose a game, he has been a solid player to many different positions just not particularly outstanding in any of those positions.
IMO opinion every team needs a utility player like Wagon

ok does every team have if you think so name them all.

I actually think every team has one veratile player in the sqaud,

Parra: Wags, Widders and PJ

Canberra: Tonque

Broncs: Carrol and McGuire

Sharks: Bird and Hilder

Manly: Dunley

Melbourne: Crocker

Newcastle: Abraham

NZ: Koopu

Saints: Timmins

Cowboys: Norton

Souths: Sutton and Rigon

Penrith: Waterhouse

I'm sure there's many more I've missed.

The above players can slot into many different postions at short notice, Utility players are regarded as specialist in the game today, they're vital to any sqaud.
