No the point of this thread is who is finals bound, and who is not. Newcastle, Penrith, Tigers, NQ, Titans, Bulldogs, Bunnies are definatley not. Enjoy the off season, surely not making the 8 is a faliure of a season, even for Newcastle.
Sorry, when was the last time your side won anything?
I don't judge the season on what place we finished, I judge it on the performances throughout the year. Fortunately, that's how respected league personalities like Phil Gould and Peter Sterling have judged our season as well.
In five of our eleven losses this year we scored as many tries as the opposition but goalkicking let us down.
We won several games we weren't expected to win.
We held the Storm scoreless at Olympic Park until the 52nd minute of the game, and that match remains the smallest winning margin the Storm have had at home all season.
We've come a long way from the rabble we were without Johns just over a year ago. No one would've backed us to go near the 8 at the start of the year. Especially if you'd told them that our three Origin/Australian forwards would miss a combined 36 games.
Whether or not we actually scrape into the 8 or not doesn't really bother me at all, because I know we can't win it this year.
