Cordner, Woods and Jackson are big no's for me. They don't seam like leaders at all, ESPECIALLY Jackson. They're good workers but that's it.

Maloney could be a good pick, has all the experience. Not sure if he has captained before at other clubs though?

Or Wade Graham. He has captained Sharks on many occasions. He's only 26 but has been around for many years now and I believe should be a permanent member of the Blues team for many years to come.

Yes I picked two Sharks players but I couldn't think of anyone else.
Have to agree with you milkshark
Might be someone out of left field..
Cords has ability but when he speaks doesnt give me hope of a leader.
Woods just your old fashioned prop...No exceptional skills...Plus you need to care about your appearance as well..Seriously,he needs a complete makeover
Jackson doesnt seem to even be a certain selection, plus doesnt strike me as a leader, more of a worker.

Cordner is Roosters captain...
Friend was captain last year, was he not? Has he been dumped as captain?

If that's the case its probably a good sign that Cordner is in fact the pea for the NSW job. Makes it look better.

Hayne doesn't know what he wants to do from one week to the next. You don't know if he'll still be there in 6 or 12 months time. He's not NSW captaincy material.

Friend was co-captain with Pearce last year (well.. until Australia Day).
Pearce was dumped due to his canine incident.
Cordner has replaced Pearce as co-captain.

Laurie Daley and Danny buderus weren't club captains (at first) but where great captains.
Freddy is barely coherent, yet was a great captain.
Kurt Gidley was a club captain and spoke well. He was horrible.
Cordner should be captain

So Friend is the captain, as I thought. Back in the day, they'd call Cordner the Vice-Captain.

Just get someone who isn't going to lose his shit with the refs 5 times a game, Paul Gallen must of been one of the worst captains for dealing with refs.

So which one is allowed to ask the ref the reason for a call, if all four are on the field?

Club Captain handles off field stuff. JWH is the vice-captain, so it would be between Cordner and Friend as to which out of them speaks to the referee.

Can we bring Freddie out of retirement, He looked like he was playing football during the nines a few back and he spends a lot of time near a football field.

Maloney or Graham

Cordner is a worker, not a leader
Jackson is too quiet, just a worker
Woods is a dumb fk, and just a worker

Really? Being a captain is not base around how good a set piece speaker you are, or how you handle yourself in a press conference, it is about how you communicate with your fellow players. Brad Fittler used to be bog ordinary talking in public, but his team mates listed when he talked after he became skipper.

Anthony Minichiello used to be so introverted you could not get him to say "boo" when he started in first grade, he was a better than average captain.

People used to reckon Mal Meninga was "too nice" to be captain when he landed the gig with Canberra.

Steve Edge was no wonder player, but he was captain when Parramatta won the comp from 1981-1983 not Ray Price, Mick Cronin, nor Peter Sterling.

At the end of the day it is who will inspire his fellow team mates. Some do it by words, some do it by actions. Artie Beetson was not a noted talker on the field, nor a great orator per se, he often lead by example.

One of the reasons why Freddy was a great captain too, was the fact he would get in a ref's face and question every single decision that went against us. Cam Smith does the same. He got more penalties for us than any other captain that I could think of, as it would clearly intimidate the referee.

I miss Freddy as a player certainly, but his value as a captain was even greater imo. Legend :D.

I don't get the leadership vibe from Cordner or Jackson at all. They're good players but not people whom I see as people to standup as leaders.

I have no doubt in my mind that Daley will select Cordner as the next captain. This should be Daleys last year in the job so the captaincy is likely to change again anyway.

Lol Jackson won't even be picked anyway

Graham > Jackson

Woods strikes me as someone whom you'd get along with pretty easily. As shown in the media

Coroner strikes me as someone who would lead by example on the field
