Just got back from a year overseas in various countries, missed out on applying for uni unfortunately. So it looks like I'll be stuck with a year of a crappy job at Coles, playing a few pub gigs with my band if I'm lucky, and then applying to some unis for Marine Biology

wow Bazal I did biology at school i could never understand that subject but good luck!!

Cheers!! Surprisingly I was looking at the criteria the other day and Bio isn't a pre-requisite, even though the course is Marine Biology :?: Found that kinda weird....

I had a heap of money to start with luckily because I had 4 jobs at one stage in high school, and tried to concentrate on countries that at the time had a decent exchange rate with us....But in Germany I just got a temporary job at a bar (not hard there are many of them) they were offering backpackers jobs at quite a few places, because it's cheap labour for them (but the pay was still pretty decent). I didn't really stay in one place for more than a month though (except Malaysia, because I have lived there before so I stayed longer), and since Germany was in the middle of the trip it provided me a nice boost as far as money went. Also got a job as a SCUBA dive guide at Tioman Island in Malaysia for a little while, but I had to apply for a work VISA nearly a year beforehand. I've been diving since I was 6 though so they gave me the job, which was good.
