Well, at least this is turning out to be the biggest thread on this dull forum. At least it's putting some entertainment into what is not normally associated with the yawn code of thugby union.

I passed school very well thanks, about 23 years ago, how about you or so so??

No need, I'm enjoying you getting seriously owned by Paley, now that is entertaining Mr Haka.

You say you finished school.. yet you post like english( what you call people from england as well as a language) is your second language... your vocab also suggests that you are a child.. if this isnt the case then you must have the IQ of a moldy piece of cheese... but then you also post with a decided turdy fragrance ...

No you are confusing a code with a game.... Rugby and League are both codified games.

Until Rugby football was codified each club played by their own rules.. you said so yourself, or are you saying you lied???...there was no code.. In 1871 the first codified Rugby game was administered by the RFU. in 1895 the "NU" clubs split but still played under the codified rules of the RFU. This shows anyone, but an idiot, that the RFU was the first administrator of the Code of Rugby Football, and this have the first rights to the name.

The Rugby School pupils drew up the first codified set of rules. if you wish to rewrite history in an attempt to prove your ridiculous argument at least try to do so intelligently.

A troll who likes to see his post count rise.

You made the assertion that people call RU rugby. Why do you think they do?

I grew up with Rugby Union, Rugby League, VFL and Soccer.

What part of the country do you come from?

No they didnt.. there were a loose set of rules played at the school... it wasnt even written until 7 odd years after the game was "invented" at the school... an attempt to codify common rules was made in 1863 with the cambridge rules. but that still didnt produce rules that all the clubs played by. That didnt happen until 1871 when the RFU was form and the rules were properly codified.

THAT is the first time codified Rules/Laws were in place that ALL followed.

Sydney, and I'd say it's pretty much the same as you suggest. VFL was definitely the term for aussie rules, but footy was used, and still is, as the generic term for RL.

I've never come across anyone who'd use the term rugby when describing RL. But union, rugby union, or plain rugby are used for RU.

So you end up with league, rugby league or footy. Union, rugby union or rugby. VFL, AFL or aussie rules. And soccer. From what I can tell the push to call soccer football has not worked. And why would it? Stupid idea.

100 years of bigotry from the tweed blazer brigade against their "working class" counterparts of whom they wish did not exist. Ta Haka in denial of this.
