7th last year was a sight improvement, to be fair.

If someone offered me 8th at the moment I'd be taking it.

Under Rick Stone we won a total of ZERO finals games

Under Wayne we have won 2

External factors are more than likely effecting the team in 2014, that much is pretty clear. Hell, Tets has just been stood down this very week to add to it all. Professional sport is a head game and with the Packer scenario, Mullo doing a hammy in the 9s, Alex's injury and now the ownership issues, its not surprising that the onfield performances are suffering.

If this shit was happening when we had nuffies in FG and with Rick at the helm, we'd be getting spanked by 50 every game.

I really think their confidence is just shot. They're doing a lot of the little things very well lately - but the confidence to push a pass and actually have it stick just isn't there at the moment. It's f**king our execution pretty badly. No-one seems willing to take a risk - even if it's the right time to take one.

Totally agree that their confidence has been shot. Unfortunately the only thing than can help that is winning. The more we lose the worse it's going to get.

I think the week off will either be a good or a bad thing depending on how much confidence the boys take from their rep games. I think all the boys in the Country side are heading for flogging as the side (especially the forwards) are much weaker than City's which won't help the whole confidence thing.

I've given up on making the finals this year but I still want to see them turn it around.

You can't really engineer confidence. You can't fake it or produce it from thin air. What do you mean keep them on track? Why do you think Wayne was pumping up Boyds tyres after the game last week? He's trying to give him a boost.

LOL Nah coaches aren't at all a factor in the general vibe of the team aye?

Keep em coming perverse!

Supercoach got this, 3 years and counting and they still aren't confident in the style of play they are being coached too.

Is that Steve Menzies in the horizon?

Well this shows that the team is capable of being fantastic. Some of these tries are simply brilliant and highlight just how disappointing our ball movement has been this year

How lols is McManus' try against the Panthers. Looks like he's desperately going to need support and then nope turns out he's being chased by slowpokes.

It's amazing how consistently clownesque you've managed to stay after all these years.

I suppose Stone would have the team thinking they could beat the Harlem Globetrotters at basketball?

Love the pro-Benny's, fair dinkum our team turned up to round 1 not looking the slightest bit enthusiastic and we are getting worse each week.

Stone had them fired up each week and even when outgunned and handily beaten they played out the 80 rather then not giving a shit.

Baron you have said things in the past that I strongly disagreed with, but this takes the cake. Talk about wearing rose coloured glasses.. There were plenty of games under Stone where I thought the knights hit the champagne at half time or didn't turn up ready to play. You're living in a fantasy world my friend if you truly mean what you typed.

We need Wayne. This club without him would most likely be on it's third consecutive spoon. We are getting whhoped but there is 2/3 of the season left. We have a dream run home in so far as HS accounts for 6 of the last 8. We are only one loss worse off than last year BTW. We lost six from seven at one stage last season. In the middle of the year. We have been here before. My concerns are not wanting to replace Wayne but more having a plan B should he go early. All reports of late suggest he wants to at least see out this deal.

I'm not sure where all the talk of getting rid of Bennett is coming from but I am surprised that he hasn't be more effective in getting the team firing.

I am more worried about the great coach's last year being an utter waste because we will have 4 NRL quality forwards in the clubs when we need 10 plus.

We need to use the ball better. We don't threaten around the ruck or in the middle of the field at all. In 2014 one-out rugby league does not work. It's why Souths don't perform in big games. They play a side like Manly who realise all they have to do race is out of the line and put body-on-body. Souths are a still a better side than us though because they have the Burgesses, Teo, McQueen doing this. We have a bunch of camels trying to do it.
How f**king hard is it, to emulate melbourne's plays? Their plays around the ruck are so simple yet so effective. Smith to Cronk inside to Slater. Smith to Cronk inside to Proctor (just use him as an example) outside to Slater.
If Gidley, Mullen, Roberts and Boyd can't pull that off they're intellectually defected.
The players we have also suit off-the-cuff football (Cuthbo, Roberts, Scott, Mason, Mullen etc.) We need to offload more and get some simple set plays... we look like we just want to get down to the opposition's side of the field and then rely on a cross-field kick to score.

This.

Too much one-pass off the ruck plays and when we do try the 2nd phase plays passing the ball sideways, the defence is already up in our faces.
