Maybe Nimbin could start a rl club, anything goes, bongs at halftime, sniffs at full time.

LOL

That reminds me of a story someone was telling me once.

His team were leading by a mile at halftime, something like 40-0.

Thought the game was over, so the team got on the cones at halftime....& lost. f**k it was a funny story.

Puts other clubs in a bit of a quandary. I mean we are always caught out for anything from Barba to potentially a player sniffing Clag glue. We are always the whipping boy. North of the border, anything goes.
Agree it sets a dangerous precendent but seriously if you are a player and being paid massive $$$ or on the verge of doing so as a junior, you can do as you please on retirement.
Another Lyall move - well done

Another interesting point out of this move that I think might be a bonus for the club.

IMO there has been a recent increase in publicity about recently retired players from footy clubs (ARL and NRL) that go off the rails right after finishing their careers. You hear the stories of drug abuse during their careers and no support after finishing their last game for "The Club".

The Clubs have been supportive of course, but it is a bad look.

Well with this move I see that The Club will now be able to say "Since 2018 we have had this introduced this program and the Club and its players all knew so .... blah blah blah."

I think it is called getting on the front foot.

I should note that I don't actually care what the players get up to away from the game and what they do in their own time. There is so much going on in todays society and I believe it is not up to a blockheaded rugby league player to be societies bench mark

If the player is serious and "adult enough" he would know what is good for his image and career and his own personal and mental health. Bottom line he should know what it Right or Wrong.

This would be Lyall.

Be wouldve beèn rocked by Barba and then hit for 6 by keogh.

Obviously determined to stop it happening again.

He is the one going to the table speaking to sponsors. Armed with this he can mount an argument the club is proactive in this area.

This probably me stereotyping him but anyone else here just get a shiver down their back thinking about Dugan taking 4 or more drug tests a season?

I'm all for it to enhance our image but we should expect more drama down the track I believe.

Haha I know someone who's done that and I can tell you he never did it again.

Stupid and unessessary move from the club.

Are we going to monitor every aspect of players lives?

Smart move by Lyall, it immediately puts pressure on the other clubs, one or two of them will jump on as well, then we watch those clubs dragging the chain

Frenzy.

There are no negatives to this proposal. If you're not doing the wrong thing there is no threat to you. Simple. Great leadership from the Sharks and Gorman.

I wonder if they will have to take alcohol tests randomly too? I am getting a shiver down my spine.

I think it is a good initiative. Club will take years to get rid of the peptide stigma.

Surprises me some not concerned with players taking drugs or being grog monsters.

Still can't believe the lack of action taken on Bromwich and Proctor. Captain of your country , married family man gets caught on the coke. 2 game ban. I got fined $185 for parking facing the wrong direction.

No 2 week ban for parking.

Let's face it, people including rugby league players, do do the wrong thing.

Some in the privacy of their own home in the company of friends & even family.

Does that make them bad people..I'd say not necessarily.

We might be losing the prospect of signing some very good players.
