1. What’s insane is arguing that we always should put more teams where you already have teams. No other sport or competition does it because it doesn’t make sense. It also doesn’t make sense to do it straight away - why do you want to go in before the Dolphins have even bedded themselves into the competition yet? They have had one year ffs. How about waiting to see if their support is consistent over a longer period?

2. You seem inordinately focused on crowds from 20-30 years ago. Rugby Union had a short golden period precisely when the Wallabies were consistently beating the All Blacks and in the infancy of that competition. The A-League had the same thing when it was bright, shiny and new and their crowds and TV audiences have steadily gone south. League, on the other hand has had consistent and durable growth over a long period. Completely different scenarios but you focus on soccer and RU as much as you want.

3. That’s a particularly immature response but unsurprising nonetheless. If you are so incensed by the Raiders then you can forward your demands to Don Furner.

Rugby is bigger in Perth than league

You're not doing yourself any favours by saying we should expand into Perth because other competitions have teams there.

How many competitions have teams in Canberra?

AwFuL, BBL and NBL don't. Using your logic, we shouldn't have a team in Canberra!

Brisbane is capable of supporting three or four teams because it has a large and passionate rugby league community and a growing economy desperate for more content. It's insane to not capitalise on the demand just because some loony from Canberra is insecure about us not having a national footprint.

If you think metros are so f**ken important then f**k the Raiders off to Perth. They're not a rich and popular club like the Cowboys. You're trying to have your cake and eat it, too.

Its arguable that if you were starting the comp today you would have a team in canberra. Like you said most have stayed away. Lets be honest they have largely survived due to pokies alone. But they are in, have maintained their place on their mertits and to suggest relocation of any club in the modern day is just dumb.

It probably is, but when you have other markets with no teams it makes on sense to not learn from Sydney and keep adding teams into the same city. Id rather see two massive Brisbane teams selling out suncorp than 4 mid size ones.
Once we have Perth, Adelaide, Christchurch, and looking like Port Moresby, we can think about another team in Brisbane, if the Dolphins are still travelling ok.

Again this hilarious, we've got a couple of blokes on the East Coast telling Western Australian based posters what will happen based on their own thoughts / vibes.

There already is a historical precedent of what will happen to participation rate, stop ignoring it or making up bull crap reasoning to troll Perth Red.

Yes AFL is a religion over here, as already it was in the 90s. It didn't stop WA participation rate rapidly growing then. Since then immigration from the East Coast and NZ has only amplified with the economy. Improved path ways and quality of competition will achieve quick growth and will mainly hurt Rugby Union who became better alternative with the demise of the Reds and inclusion of the Force. Growth can be achieved independently to AFL.

Do you honestly think the standard of competition in Perth will ever be as strong as Brisbane and Sydney?

If you want Perth juniors to be as well drilled and hardened as those from Brisbane and Sydney then they'll need to be exposed to the same callibre of competition.

What are the odds of that happening?

It's precisely the reason Aussie soccer players aren't in the same league as South Americans, Europeans, Japanese and Koreans.

All I'm hearing is excuses for Perth's failures and a sense of entitlement.

Isnt one of the best womens soccer players in the world from perth?

Perth local comp doesnt need to be. We just need one club full of perth players playing in an elite comp to be. There is no reason with our population, growing our participation rates, increasing our pathways investment that we wont have a SG Ball and NSW cup side that can achieve that.

Where we need strong local comps is in the U15'-U17's age groups. Thats where Id be focusing resources locally at our NRLWA clubs to get that level way higher than it is now. Thatll then feed the SG ball and beyond

You are not doing yourself favours with your dummy spit which you seem prone to do. Waa waa I want another team waa waa

Second point, I’m not from Canberra and I’ve mentioned this to you before. Get your facts right.

Third point, there are just as many teams (actually there will be more when an A-League puts a team in Canberra) from Canberra in sporting competitions than there are from Townsville. Sorry to burst your bubble on that one. Notwithstanding, I don’t see the relevance of whom I support in this argument, nor yours. If you want to keep the debate based on that than that’s up to you.

Expansion should be based on what you would like to see?

Brisbane 3 will provide far more benefits than unwanted teams in Adelaide and Perth. You just don't want it to become reality because it will lower the already long odds of Perth getting a team it doesn't deserve.

A third Brisbane team is in no way comparable to Sydney's nine. You're using a false equivalence.

You're the most selfish person on this board. Everything is about you walhat you want. You even whinged about a Perth-based team not having your preferred colours.
