Why is perth bid so secretive?!

A good portion would effectively be insolvent overnight, and the majority of the rest would be totally reliant on increased grants/investment from their LC or owners. Probably only the Broncos and maybe Rabbits (and it's a big maybe) would be ok, but even they would take a significant hit and would need to tighten their belts.
Cowboys make as much as the Rabbitohs from football operations. You deliberately ignore this fact because you're envious of their success.

Wow shows how much I know I thought the nsl died off in the 80s

used to go clubbing at Marconi and Apia clubs the ground at Marconi was tidy
The last NSL season was in 2004. Perth Glory dominated the NSL between 1998-2004. Fans flocked to their games in Perth. The Wildcats and Scorchers generated similar levels of support with teams that were just as successful. The support dries up in Perth when teams become average.

So your argument is that if the AFL didn’t give them money then they would make a loss and this is from 2018?

If you want to use that same argument i.e how poor would a club be without funding from the competition how many NRL clubs would be struggling right now? I know the answer because I and you remember the Super League days pre grants.

So essentially so as long as the competition are making the money that they are then they will be fine. Same with our competition yeah?

pproximate 10-year totals (2012-21)

So how come the participation rate is only 40% as big as it was?

A city doesn't need an NRL team to have people playing the game. If it did then places like Rockhampton would never have produced players like Cam Munster.
Because the arlc has totally neglected the game here since it took it over ten years ago, it’s not rocket science.

qrl gets $20mill and has 4 nrl clubs, nrlwa Less than $1mill and none. But yeh it’s fair to compare the two lol

If I wasn't very bright then I'd be advocating for teams in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth on the basis it will create new fans and players!

How many players has Melbourne produced?

3 or 5 over 25 years?

Melbourne only has 5k participants. Ratings in Melbourne are abysmal. The Storm have contributed f**k all to the game, yet you think they're proof that teams in Adelaide and Perth will make us as big as AwFuL. You're a complete f**kwit.
They will be the second most shown club on Ch9 Next season. Go figure!

FMD you speak some shit.

Are you suggesting WA should get $20m per annum and four NRL clubs?

Spending $20m on WA and giving it 4 clubs won't make rugby league as popular as it is in Queensland. The QRL gets 20 times more money per annum [than the WARL] because Queensland has 64,566 registered players. WA has just 4,100. Queensland's player base is 15 times greater.

I didn't ignore anything, just couldn't be bothered to check ever team's annual report, which is why I didn't make a definitive statement on each and every team.

I've got better things to do than check the Cowboy's reports to see if you're correct, but it's irrelevant anyway. For sake of argument I'll just accept your word for it, that means that instead of 2 there're maybe 3 clubs that might be be able to survive independently on their football businesses alone out of 18. The point still stands, and that number is still abysmal.

What about Dockers who've been sht for most of their existence but draw avg crowds higher than any NRL club?

Breaking news, clubs draw lower crowds when not performing. Thanks for pointing out the bleeding obvious lol

No I'm suggesting there's cause and effect.
$2mill grassroots funding a year in WA would be a good start and one NRL club so there is a local elite pathway to the top. Then you'd maybe see the next Cam Munster emerge from Perth in a few years.

The Storm have a solid supporter base in SEQ due to their history in the region. Only 30k people in Melbourne watch them on FTA. Three to four times as many people from Brisbane watch them play.

West Coast Pirates will have zero relevance to Queenslanders.
Not when Brisbane Easts are our feeder team lol

Fat chance of the NRL investing that kind of money into the NRLWA any time soon lol.

Can't even get them to care about most of NSW, or VIC and the ACT that have had teams for 20 and 40 years respectively, so I can't see them jumping out of their skin to throw money into WA. Nah, you'll almost certainly have to do it yourselves just like most of the rest of us.

yeh I have no hope either lol, thats why the only hope is to get an NRL club here that will invest in pathways as ARLC will no doubt continue to fail to fulfill its mandate.
