5 min to go down 2 and 10m out game on the line. Johns is on the right and Langer is on the left.
Im passing left every day of the week.
If you go to Johns you might win. If you go to Langer you will win.

That's because you can only pass one way, unco...

Time to point out the bleeding obvious again. Many NSWers get on this forum, crowing about Andrew Johns dominance at Origin level.

How many Origin series did Johns win again?

Others then point out that Thurston just doesn't bring it at club level, and hasn't won a premiership, therefore that makes him unworthy to be named in the same category as Johns.

What a load of crap? Thurston is up with Johns, and in my book from a consistency and overall influence standpoint, a much better player than Johns.

yeah but you're an idiot.

A little reality check for those hypnotised by the NSW-centric press who can pull out a superlative at the smallest whim to suit their NSW-centric agenda.

Here's a little comparison of Andy Pandy - the man in his own stratosphere and beyond comparison - and little Allan Langer, the humble Ipswich boy who doesn't get champagne flowing in Sydney town.

NRL games: Johns 249/Langer 258 (Langer played two season in England at the peak of his powers)
SOO games: 23 Johns/Langer 37 (Langer didn't play any games as second fiddle, you know, filling in at hooker or on the bench)
Games for Aust: 24 Johns/Langer 23
Premierships: 2 Johns/4 Langer

Notice anything at all?

You see, history can be re-written in the minds of men by those who wield the pen. Simple minds can concoct history in the image of their liking, in this case, the colossus of Andy Pandy Johns is made of twigs held together with a little ecstasy here, a bit of racism there, and a ton of disrespect for officialdom.

Of course Langer is in the same league as Johns.

lol

Rothmans/Dally M medals: Johns 3/ Langer 1
Dally M halfback of the year: Johns 4 / Langer 3
Golden Boots: Johns 2/ Langer 0
Points scored in career: Johns 2,176/ Langer 473

Unfortunately for Alfie, there are no extra points for dancing in your undies at the Normanby

What does Andrew Johns have to do with Queensland winning 8 series?

Not sure. Ask Daz

lol You missed the point, which is really not surprising

Selective use of stats can be made to support any argument, which is what you did. Funny that you left out the ones I listed, I wonder why......

So does Dazzat not rely on his stats he so gleefully provided, or is he admitting they are irrelevant in judging a impact of a players career. Hypocrisy is the domain of the QLD faithful afterall.

Surely I am not the only one who feels pity for Dazzat, it started as contempt then graduated to pure contept. Now it's just pity.

Mainly because your statistics are inferior. How does one judge a player ... mmm ... playing for one's country is one. Representing one's state is another. Oh ... and premierships ... that's a biggie.

They indicate not just playing a good game here and there, but longevity, durability, and excellence over a period of time.

Andrew John ... well he certainly exhibited many qualities over a period of time. Drug taking was one. Disrespect for referees ... that's another.

Thanks for the pity by the way Johnsie. It's wasted, but thanks anyway.

So numerous individual awards and accolades are meaningless unless you've played more games . Good one.

Jesus if you get yourself into this much of a lather over Alfie's 'games played' stats I don't wanna be there when you look at Lockyers.

Let's get back to the argument at hand (besides Queensland winning eight in a row due to NSW's inbred born to rule attitude).

That is, that there is no comparison between Andrew ecstasy-taking-referee-abusing-racist-against-his-own-players Johns, and Allan dancing-in-his-undies-at-the-pub Langer.

Clearly history, statistics, and common sense suggest otherwise. The difference of course is the elitist, café latte sipping NSW dominated Sydney rugby league press who have pumped up Andrew Johns' tyres for so many years, that those south of the border regard him as a demi-god who was all-conquering, and won every game he played for Newcastle, NSW, Australia and possibly even Earth.

NSW needed a messiah, and the NSW press gave you a very naughty boy, and the NSW zombies all moaned along to their tune.

130 Rugby League experts from QLD & NSW beg to differ. But then again, you'd know the game better than they do.

Poor old Alfie couldn't even make the 17.

What he's trying to say is that NSW fans are saturated with Blue tinted bias 24/7, 365 days a year. Any body who removed the blinkers could see that Jo-E (druggo!) Johns wasn't even the 10th best player of his generation. The NSW media always need some overrated hack to jerk off over. They are so arrogant and graceless that they (and their fans) are unable to accept the FACT that since 1908, Qld has consistently produced the best players and the most passionate fans not just in Rugby League, but world sport. Bar none. That lot south of the Tweed are unaware that Captain Cook was all set to establish the First Fleet at Deception Bay until the NSWRL slipped him coins under the table to land in Sydney instead. Typical NSW.

If only every state and every nation on Earth could have a fair and balanced newspaper like The Courier Mail to enlighten them on the world as it really is...
