Seeing as Daley will be NSW coach for the 2015 season, i hope that coincides with him losing his third straight series, and the coach when QLD hopefully wins its 10th series in a row.

Mal said something to the effect to the boys this year that our record streak would not be held to be significant in absolute terms until we equaled St George's 11 consecutive wins.

With 2 home games at The Cauldron next year, we'd have to be favourites to take 9 consecutive. The following year one game goes to Melbourne(which essentially is a home game for the Maroons due to the overwhelming support they show the QLD team). So 10 in a row is also not out of the question. Given that under Mal the Maroons have a better win/loss record at ANZ than the Blues, even in 2016 in Sydney 11 in a row is not out of the question. It might just be possible that our 2017 dual games at Suncorp might just pip St George's record of consecutive wins.

I'm well aware that the Origin Series is not a Premiership with all that goes with it. The key here is consecutive wins. The Maroons have the momentum and the cache of wins to take on this record. I know that in 2006 before even Game 1 had been played, Mal stated that he wanted to coach the team to a 10 game winning streak.

F*** ten games. We want a dozen.

RBM....all comes down to injuries. QLD have been somewhat fortunate with injuries in key positions, but if they get a bad run then it will affect them greatly.

I understand what you are saying. The same applies both ways.

We did well this year though. We really didn't have Thurston for Game 1. He was there on the field but not really operating. We didn't really have Inglis in Game 3. Again he was there on the field but not really operating. Add the 2013 handicap of 2 games in Sydney and you can see that our team did quite well under trying circumstances.

I think that the current Maroon team's mental determination is more the key to the successes than anything. Setbacks seem to make them more determined. Also consider that our Emerging Maroons squad train with the team in order to make the transition to substitute more seamless. It'd take a wholesale wipeout of the team to really affect their roll.

i wouldnt be the first person not to bother reading your whole post.
The fact that you'd reply critically to a post that you hadn't fully read reflects more upon your critical faculties, as opposed to the content of my posts.

I marvel at the individuals who find posts of a few hundred words too long. GOD only knows what they do when confronted by(GOD forbid) books.

Give your guide dog a pat from me.

Time to point out the bleeding obvious again. Many NSWers get on this forum, crowing about Andrew Johns dominance at Origin level.

How many Origin series did Johns win again?

Others then point out that Thurston just doesn't bring it at club level, and hasn't won a premiership, therefore that makes him unworthy to be named in the same category as Johns.

What a load of crap? Thurston is up with Johns, and in my book from a consistency and overall influence standpoint, a much better player than Johns.

Wow, this old chestnut again

Ill keep it short so you dont get lost Daz. Most NSW supporters acknowledge that Joey never reached his full SOO potential due to a string on injuries however his series in '05 was the most dominant of any player I have ever watched. His influence on games 2 and 3 was massive and he did it all coming back from 2 serious injuries with barely any game time.

Consistency has let him down but only due to injuries. Rarely was he on the field and had a bad game at club level, unlike JT. His influence over his team mates was undeniable when you looked at Newcastles win/loss ration with and without him playing over the 1999-2006 period.

Read and believe what you like mate, its clear you find it very difficult to concede that anything NSW related could possibly be held in higher regard to your precious QLD. Your chip is most certainly larger than most and it makes you look pretty small by comparison
