Last year when Australia played New Zealand in a Test Match in Townsville and after an Australian victory, the Queensland players in the team broke out into the Queensland team song.

To be honest I'm a big boy and don't think it was arrogant - just a piss take. And I'll be the first to admit I'm the ultimate piss taker and love doing it.

I only highlight it to show you guys that the hand grenade was just a piss take, not arrogance, and shouldn't take it so seriously.

This current QLD side in IMO is not as good as the sides from 1987-89, they won eight straight games including back to back shut outs.They also won four out of four games in Sydney. Our sides included greats like Kenny,Sterling, Roach, Pearce, Jack etc.

Second of all, I find it funny the selective memories some of our cousins to the North have. The NSW "hand grenade" post-try celebration came at a time when post try celebrations were happening every weekend in the NRL. As a Knights fan, I had to watch the Raiders players go bowling against us on a freezing night at Bruce Stadium but we didn't bitch about it. Context is the key word here.

Lastly, complain about Gould challenging Lockyer all you want, but remember this was the same Phil Gould who just 3 years earlier had a publicised spat with one Joey Johns after he accused him of being overweight and unmotivated. As much as you might want to believe some players are above criticism, Gus is only so critical of players he knows have much better potential than what they are showing. It's a back-handed compliment from him. Again, context is the key word...

Also the post try celebrations do play some part. All Qlders who saw that disrespectful and just plain stupid behaviour have not forgoten. All the current QLD players would have seen those games and i bet they havent forgoten.
