If we are in the market for a new 5/8 come 2020, the only one of note coming off contract is Cam Munster.

Great player. But I'd say it's unlikely we'd be attractive to him, he seems to enjoy the hipster lifestyle.

I've got nothing against Widdop whatsoever. But if he wants to go home; and therefore by default does not want to be with us when he is on $880K and is our captain...let him go. Simple as that. He has given reasonable service to us; seems like a decent bloke. No hard feelings. Let's all be mature about it. Grant him his wish and move on. You never know perhaps a young Sailor or Field might step up and kill it. I am not saying they will; but who knows? What we do know however is that Kurt Mann lacks the passing game to play at #6.

Again I am just saying, but Norman and Moses are available. Sure they have had attitude problems but they can both play.

If NZ want a trade give them Field or Mann or Aitken or Lafai, hang on give them all of these players and buy some quality: R Jennings, and a top grade prop. The obsession with the coach in here is pathetic. McGregor and Widdop are tight. McGregor loves Widdop and is the reason why he is captain. Widdop isn't leaving because of the coach.

If the Club got rid of Mary like they should have long ago, there would be no more obsession or negatives except of course if the new coach is Dean Young.

Maybe it is the opposite to what everyone is saying. Maybe Widdop has been told Mary is on his way and the new 'interim coach' will be Dean Young.

I would rather have Widdop for the year, do a proper search for a replacement rather than just make a snap decision to sign a player for 4 years for a million just to beat Sharks with a matter of hours to get it all done
