it can't be much worse. with the Eels in the comp we won't be getting the spoon for the next few years.

What happens when the Eels wise up and get rid of Ricky Stuart though?

Who will stop us picking up the spoon then?

Better hope for some salary cap rorting I guess...

Your halves will be shit every time if the pack isn't going forward and giving them room.

We need to fix the forwards big time.

I'll give Potter all the time in the world, but he should not have wasted money and time with Richards. I don't care how well he's playing or will play for us, we had the backline covered already.

We need to go forward before we can go wide. It's just that simple.

I agree. We need good go forward. Players like Blair, Fulton and Halatau will really need a second look.

I think Anasta has to go.

Front Row should be okay.

Its the back row that is the most major concern.

We cannot have Sironen in the forwards next year, he's a good defender, we will need him in the halves, to help sure up our fringe defence.

Honestly MU Blake Austin should be a star at 5/8 for us next year. He has something special and is a great defender.

I think Sirro takes Liam's starting right edge spot TBH. He and Halatau should be fighting for the same bench spot

I saw Anasta interviewed last week... he wants to play next year so he is not going anywhere....

Fulton has been resigned for a further 3 years, again he is not going anywhere...

f**king Halatau hasnt even started with the club yet and apparently you think they should get rid of him..... as if that is going to happen....

Anasta should be gone. Fulton & Halatau I think are good players but we need to get really good go forward and be really strong defensively. If we don't do this the good teams will just roll over us as they did last night.

Once we get our pack right I figure we are in with a chance.

I think Austin's body is a bit more hardened to the NRL and I'd be happy to have him playing at Lock. He's also spent more time in the back row than Sironen at NRL level.

Sironen at five-eighth next year with a view of shifting him to Lock/Second Row in 2015 to make way for Moses.

Fulton in the second row next year so that he can help protect Brooks in defence, like he did with Lui.

In fairness to Anasta, I thought he was pretty good last night. Didn't do anything spectacular but was at least solid.

I never thought I'd see the day when I was hoping Anasta would get the ball over that one man comedy act Marshall.

Isn't it sad when we are satisfied simply because the half back doesnt f**k up...

Other teams halfbacks win them the game like Reynolds on Friday night...

2014 Will be better mainly because of the fact we wont have certain pea hearted players in our team. We will have players there who want to play for the team giving it their all.

The positives from this year in my opinion:

The youngsters coming through and show immense talent. Simona, Nofoa, Todesco, Siro have all played extremely well in trying circumstances. BMM is starting to live up to the potential, if he could improve his fitness a little we have a very damaging backrower. Last night against a good roosters team he always broke a tackle.

Getting rid of some serious deadwood. Iosefa, Reddy, Marshall, Ayshford and now if we could get rid of some other players as well that would be amazing.

The signings of Tapau, Paterson, Austin, Richards, Lulia. Not signings that will light up the world but better then the crap we have signed in the last 2 years.

Most importantly the signings of our young up and coming juniors to prevent desperate clubs like the sharks signing them.

Next year might be a little tough but i am hoping that the board dont give him an unrealistic goal like top 8 ( which would be lovely to make but we must be realistic ).
I would be happy with 9-10 wins next year with us playing good footy but most importantly showing an importance to playing some defence as well. However come 2015 i would expect us to be playing finals footy!

I've posted this on another thread but it holds the same relevance. This is my idea for a team next year:
1. Ted
2. Nufo
3. Fulton
4. Simona
5. Richards
6. Siro
7. Brooks
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Galloway
11. Blair
12. Patterson
13. Sue

14. Ava
15. Tupau
16. Halutau
17. BMM

This may not have the attacking flair of Benji in his prime, but our defense would be very good and our pack would actually be able to provide go-forward.

IMO you can't have Fulton in the centres. He would be torched by every centre in the comp 1 on 1.

I also thought this at first but if Fulton's job was primarily to mark his opposite number, he would be key in stopping tries. He may not have the pace of our other backs but I think tightening up our defense is more important for 2014.

If Adam Blair just plays like he does in the front row he may actually make some impact in the second row.

With all these strong defenders brooks would be able to relax and control the game. Adam Reynolds is not that good a defender but he doesn't need to be with the bunnies pack being so strong.

Considering the fact we have bought Richards and Luilia and with the backs we already have here I think it is extremely unlikely that we will see Fulton play in the centres.
