Right.

Well, and as for the reasons you listed why we would beat Manly? Was that for show too? ;-)

Maybe I should have been more specific to your Q. ' Who tipped us to beat Manly '...

Mate, before every game I honestly believe we can win.

I honestly believe that if we execute the game plan laid out, we will win.

If each individual ticks the boxes on the jobs they are given, we will win.

There is not a team in this competition we cannot beat.

As I watch it all unravel in front of me like it did against the Sea Eagles with dropped ball and incompleted sets and errors, I still believe that next week, if we put it all together, we can win.

That question about who did think we could beat the Eagles was directed at the people who are on here complaining about poor form and whether we will make the top 8.

As sure as you wil come on here and carry on like a tool, I will believe in the game plan we set out each week. I will believe that if the players execute the plan, we will win.

So there are two things you can count on around here old son.

1. I believe the Knights can win any game.

2. You will always be a tool.

Fair call, and I agree.

I probably just fall on the pessimistic side of the "IF".

Be interesting to see your approach when we don't have Smithy putting the game plans together mate.

3. The fact you believe the Knights can win any game out tools me.

I guess you truly believe we can win the competition too.
And why can't we? We've beaten the Dogs, Dragons and pushed the Storm all the way ...

Whether we will remains to be seen.

There's a hundred reasons, but the main two being we don't have a decent halfback, and Brian Smith is coach.

Seriously karma, do you honestly believe there is a team out there we cannot beat if we do not execute a simple game plan?

Its a double edged sword mate.

The plan in place for Manly was pretty tight. But then he puts one prop on the bench.... The plan all week was to shut down the front row to allow Zeb and Simmo to concerntrate on Watmough and Stewart.... One prop on the bench! FMD.

He has great plans Smith, then he does some crazy things I just dont get.

Give me a Coach with a similar analytical mind with a 'random crazy idea' filter pleae.

Friday night was not a mess because we did not execute the plan, Friday night was a mess because we made simple, poor school boy errors.

Dropped balls, missed tackles..... and had one prop.

The same Brian Smith that came up with the gameplan to beat the Dogs, Dragons and very nearly Melbourne? And we've got a pretty good halfback in Mullen. Five-eight is where the real problem lies in Rogers ;-)

I believe we can beat any team on any given day, but that is more a reflection on the closeness of the competition than anything else. Any team in the NRL can beat any team on any given day.

Brian Smith gets all the kudos for great tactical coaching, but why doesn't get get put under the hammer when he does name one prop, or leaves it until the 54th minute to introduce Corey Patterson... etc etc.

The same Brian Smith that came up with the gameplan to beat the Dogs, Dragons and very nearly Melbourne?

Yeah, and he will probably lead us to ' very nearly ' winning the competition too, but for some more reasons why, see the reply to Pika just above this one. His coaching decision often baffles his own staff.

I dont know Karma.

For every ten things that makes perfect sense when explained, he throws up a curve ball.

Starting side for eels is another.

Dont get me wrong, I am a big fan of Smith. The systems, discipline and tactics he offers are outstanding.

His tactical mind is excellent.

But every now and then........

But every now and then........

He tries to outsmart himself. He has a huge ego ( as anyone who is successful needs to have to a certain extent ), but the ego needs to be controlled sometimes. Sometimes he might need to realise that he doesn't have to come up with something unique and different just be considered a very good coach.

Plenty of teams over the years have won with the Keep It Simple Stupid method.

Over analysis of things can lead to confusion - especially when you talking about a group of footballers not necessarily renowned for possessing intellect in abundance.

I think he just likes being ' different '.

Put it this way, I'm putting more weight on my tip for us to finish 6th than what individual games we will win :p
I had seen this way of thinking before somewhere else - don't worry about HOW we get to 6th, we just will. It stumped me for a while, but then it hit me...

I think you'll make the eight, but It depends who you play if you go any further. The Tits at home would be a hard.

God, the negativity!

We throw up one bad performance and everyone reaches for the wrist razors.

Will we make the 8? YES.

Will we be a pain in the a*se to whoever we play when we get there? YES

Can we beat any and every team (that's right Karma, EVEY TEAM) in the comp? To quote the current US President, YES WE CAN.

PS - Pika, your early post (if we follow the game plan, we will win etc.) should be rewritten as a pledge that every player must recite with one hand over their heart and the other on a stack of Rugby League Weeks before each game. Inspirational stuff!
