I think a company like McWilliams could honestly do a ripper mataro for half that if they really wanted to. Teusner do for example, and they're relatively small.

We should. We've focussed on commercial wines for too long, IMHO.

We have an absolute cracker GSM in the Rolling range that you should try Drew. Sure it's not 100% Mataro but it's a good starter.

I'll look out for it :D Love me some GSM!

Have any of you guys seen a movie called Bottle Shock ?

If so how much of it is truth and how much is fiction ?

Supposed to be a true story.

Yes, I'm somewhat surprised you could turn that story into a movie.

But then, Hollywood will try anything!

2009 Xavier Cotes du Rhone. Grenache, Mourvedre, Shiraz, Carignane. Really good fruit, lots of spice, good depth and body, enough complexity to keep the interest. Ripping value at $20.

2004 Yarravale Reserve Pinot Nior. For a 10 year old wine, there is still a lot of bright red fruit in this drink. Actually has a lot of Sangiovese characteristics, sour cherry being the most prevalent. Very interesting beverage...

Chateau les Fourniers Cansac 2010. Bordeaux wine, won a gold at Concours De Bordeaux in 2011 apparently. Blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv, and Cab Franc. While it is somewhat tight, the tart note says this was a wine to be drunk at least 12 months ago, if not slightly more. A wine to be had young, not now.
