Yeah nah.

Look don’t get me wrong but it’s a very bad idea, you want to put a 6 foot tall 100 kilogram person with more than double the muscle density of any of the other women playing on to the same field as relatively average women, it’s just asking for trouble in sport as physical as ours.

I don’t care about the fact that she’s a trans women, I really don’t, but it’s simply not fair or more importantly safe to put someone with such a large inherent physical advantage into a game like ours.

If you don’t agree with me then that’s fine, but I implore you to go watch a Fallon Fox fight...

Id say anyone who has gone through full transition can play.

That means they will have done the hormone tratement and wont have the muscle mass of the blokes.

If you open it to anyone who tick the Female box, you asking for trouble. Put this barrier up and youve fixed the problem. I dont think a fake would be willing to cut his dick off just to get it a Womens league...

I don't necessarily agree with you but I am not about to deny that the issues you raise aren't fully valid and possibly tip the scales in favour of not doing it. I just have a feeling her advantages aren't going to mean much in league.

I am NOT going to watch a Fallon Fox fight or any other womens fight.

Maybe not this time, but if money starts flowing into the league, youve set a precedent that could be a big problem later...

Maybe an opportunity for the nrl to put in some grass roots criteria for any club wanting to field a team in the new women’s comp. ie you have to x number of teams/players in your local league,a girls rl development plan etc. Be good to see this opportunity usednto leverage stronge4 grass roots committment to developing the women’s game. Let’s not be like the afl and draft in. Net ballers, cricketers and any other lady who can run and fumble a ball.

For the record Leaguetag has been just introduced to many primary schools in Newcastle. A gala dsy recently had 78 schools participate. Id suggest the RL junior development people get this version of rugby league as a PSSA sport ASAP!

I said early they or the NRL should be looking to take the Ausaid money that is currently given to bloody AFL, Have the Orchids do health and safety message etc.

That's the sort of thinking that is absent from NRL administrators! Pretty sure they are not aware of this funding in general!

"Pretty sure"?

Can we stick to facts instead of biased speculation?

Fair call. I was probably emphasizing things that savvy administrators should be looking for . Probably some random hope that a proactive official might actually pick up on the idea. Perhaps they are? So point taken.

You need to understand where the NRL is heading here

RG and NYC both have been killed off

You can also only play 2 games on game day

It will now by NRL and W-NRL

If they need extra money for the W-NRL clubs it will come from grassroots
You must be talking past the new tv deal because they’re saying the WNRL will start 6 weeks or so befor the NRL GF.

I think the status quo of NSWRL/QRL games will be played prior to NRL games.

They also need to shorten the break between RG & NRL to 20 minutes.

I’m sure there’s people on the NRL payroll that check in here for feedback. This is a perfect example of what the NRL should be doing

Do you really think so ? I don't think the NRL would bother with internet forums.
Now if this was a forum for busnessmen with plenty of $s they would be all over it.

Agree. More than likely. Maybe a proactive administrator might take note? However is that asking too much with this current lot?

Not this current lot. Even if they did would they appreciate/recognise proactive/ good ideas?! That's another problem in itself.

crap, the NRL is the biggest recipient of Ausaid funding in the Pacific islands, primarily in PNG, it's part of the NRL Pacific Strategy.

Who do people think will get the 6 franchises at the end of the year ?

I have heard there will be 1 NZ, at least 1 QLD.
Maybe Penrith, Cronulla who know

I've seen somewhere that, surprisingly given they were the first to sign up womens players to contracts, Cronulla aren't keen on entering a team straight away.

That being the case, my first six would be something like this:
Newcastle
NZ
Brisbane
Melbourne
St.George-Illawarra or Souths
Parra or Penrith
