My mate reckons the Sharks for the spoon so I bet him 10 to 1 minimum $100..

He wouldn't take it

That's only cos he knows he'll get better odds for it thru SportsTAB!

Soft?

How did we just miss out on the top 8 this year if we are 'soft', we will have basically the exact same forward pack next year..
Um, Parra just missed the 8 too apparently, but I;d be the first to say we are too soft. So at least we've got some recruits in to help our forward pack...

Get your spoon money on the Sharks at good odds while you can ;-)

To see why a lot of people think Canberra are a good chance at spoon Raider's fans, just look at your coach. And I know a lot of you agree.

Fair point, but this season we had nothing in the outside backs, and a shocking halves combo, next season we have a better backline and Jason Smith aswell as a future NSW halfback Todd Carney. Smith maybe over the hill but the bloke still has the vision and skill to set up some nice plays, give us some direction

we may have lost Wiki and Davico but Weyman will fill for Davico and if he can stay healthy Weyman is better than Davico, Wiki cant be replaced, its a sad facts but we have awesome depth in the back row, so we should be able to cover him as best you could

The our young guns in PL will again be pushing all year for spots, keeping the first graders on their toes, for these reasons i think we will make the 8, no way in hell even with a dud coach, we will win the spoon, there i just too much talent running around

Canberra for 2 reasons.
Losing Wiki and keeping Schvofski

First of all its SCHIFCOFSKE and 2nd of all why would keeping the best defencive fullback and when in form one of the most dynamic attacking players in the comp be a bad thing?
Your credability  GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORN

I cant really see the Rabbits getting far. Maybe in the next 2-3 years they will improve.

Yeah, once Roy Bell and Joe Williams get some experience they'll come good.

On a note to Rabbits management, i think theyd go a bit further if they stopped taking rooster-rejects.

Cusack and Heggarty are top buys I think. Heggarty was an Origin player before his injury this season, Cusack is Mr Consistency.

Raiders = loss of players not good buys.
Souths= Generally not that good

"Heggarty was an Origin player before his injury this season,"

My question; was it deserved? or was it that QLD ran out of quality players?

WHAT THE HEck? the roosters???????? no way .... the warriors definatly they have nothing offering for them next year.... no new players... and an unstable club

Onya Corbin. No new players - Steve Price, Ruben Wiki and Nathan Fein?

Unstable club? The only club that gains a profit each year WITHOUT a leagues club.

One of your best.

Profit - Easy though you got to admit when we ONLY have ONE team to run! And seriously we did show quite a bit of instability with the Ali fiasco, Daniel Anderson 'resigning' , and the lack lustre performance of senior players this season

If it was so easy, how come the Auckland Warriors were on the verge of going bust?

Simple fact is Cullen Sports have done tremendous things with the club.

All clubs have a season to forget, but from my perspective a stable club is one which can sustain its own future which the Warriors can.

He got into the Kangaroos following it, I think Heggarty deserved his chance.

1995-2000 says that isn't quite true.

I rekon that is a pretty good estimate. The storm will be up there just like they have been for the last two years now. Everyone has said they wont make the eight but they have proven the critics wrong constantly. They have signed scott, donnely and feeney. Our back line has a hell of a lot of depth should someone get injured and it is also one of the best in the game in my opinion, chan smith and kearns forwards pack is solid. Scott and Kidwell in the second row with johnson at lock is strong as well. Feeney, donnely, hoffman and cronk on the bench, the only thing i can see letting us down is size, if our players beef up a bit more then watch out.

NO WAY WILL RAIDERS GET WOODEN SPOON.

- We have the best young prop in the game
- We have the best young half in PL
- We have the best PL team in the competition and our Pl team could beat many first grade teams on their day!

We have signed:

- Craig Frawley
- Howell x 2
- Jason Smith
- Matt Adamson
- and probably Lincoln Withers
- Jermain Ale

We lost:

Monoghan - He is sh!t and only "played for half a year"
Davico - He was Injury Prone and his vacancy will be covered by Weyman
Wiki - Missed 8 weeks anyway
Drew - The main reason why we will not get the spoon is this guys departure!

Sorry you Canberra Haters. All I can do is

Yep fair point, Frawley is better than him and has been all year

Davico - He was Injury Prone and his vacancy will be covered by Weyman
Injury prone is harsh, he will be missed sorely, blunted by Weyman thou

Wiki - Missed 8 weeks anyway
sure he missed 8 weeks but he is the heart and soul of our team, cant be replaced but we will do our best

Drew - The main reason why we will not get the spoon is this guys departure!
AMEN!

No no, only Parramatta fans thought they where close to the 8, everyone else knew you had nothing.

If you are putting money on Sharks missing the 8, may aswell give it to me, cause your chucking it away ;-)

What about Tupou?

Very big call when there are some great quality halves in PL that include names like Firman and Thurston who would be at any other club starters and young guys like Aitken and Smith to call Carney the best is a bit :? . He is a very good player but who knows how he will handle NRL when Elliott finally gives him a real stint.

Best PL team? The dragqueens, manly and roosters all have good PL teams...

I'm not raider hating I just don't think Canberra will kick on next year. Yes, the raiders have good young talent but they need time to develop. Chucking them into first grade with limited game time under their belt will cost the raiders short term but long term will only help.

Frawley is a great buy though, I rate him better than Mona.

Was unaware either Roy Asotasi, Shane Tronc or Anthony Tupou had transferred to the Raiders. That received very little press, well done on that secret signing!

- We have the best young half in PL

Big jump from premier league to first grade. They don't all make it.

- We have the best PL team in the competition and our Pl team could beat many first grade teams on their day!

Rest assured, no premier league team would beat a premiership team. Just think, Rod Jensen was a try scoring demon in premier league, he can barely score one even with the Cowboys.

We have signed:

- Craig Frawley

Good player, injury prone though. He doesn't cover Monaghan.

- Howell x 2

Hardly broke into first grade for St George. You'll find other clubs signed premier league nuff nuffs too, but they aren't being billed by their fans as the next prodigial sons as you seem to be.

- Jason Smith

Over the hill.

- Matt Adamson

Refer Jason Smith. Players find it ENORMOUSLY hard to come back from England and make an impact. Think of some of the players who have failed miserably, particularly in that age bracket. Andrew Gee was not the player he once was for instance. Tony Martin is younger, but has proven himself to be an ESL star and an NRL nuff nuff.

- and probably Lincoln Withers

Not bad, but a bench player.

- Jermain Ale

Who? Every club has juniors. Not all crack it into the bigtime.

We lost:

Monoghan - He is sh!t and only "played for half a year"

This comment after like 7,423 threads in various Canberra threads about how scummy he was for leaving the club after he'd done so much. It was obvious he affected the minds of the 13 year olds posting it.

Davico - He was Injury Prone and his vacancy will be covered by Weyman

Yes, Mick Weyman is the epitomy of NOT being injury prone  Danny Sullivan anyone?

Wiki - Missed 8 weeks anyway

His influence is undeniable. He commands respect. Almighty loss.

Drew - The main reason why we will not get the spoon is this guys departure!

Still doesn't compensate the fact you still have Mark McLinden who is the worst NRL half in 64 years.

Sorry you Canberra Haters. All I can do is

Canberra haters? Just a realist. Premier league means very, very little sometimes. Some players are ace premier league players but cannot make the jump. It is a MASSIVE jump. Some players mentally just cannot do it. To think you're going to get through on that, after having a season of inconsistency and injuries where you could throw them all in is a worrying sign.

Rest assured, no Davico, no Wiki, no Monaghan and still Mark McLinden spells MASSIVE trouble. Your team undoubtably plays the worst style of any club in the attacking red zone, its absolutely dreadful. You could have 7 sets of six you'd only cross through a defensive blunder.
