Will be worse if Gruden doesn't get this Mack issue sorted. Latest news has the Jets sniffing around after him

Last year the cutoff for the eight was 30 two teams made it 13 wins
2016, it was 27 11 wins and a draw
2015 it was 28 12 wins
2014 it was 28, and (PD played it's part) 12 wins
2013 it was 28 12 wins
2012 it was 28 12 wins

All those years had 24 rounds and two byes

Why would we need 32 points or even 30 to make the eight this year when there is 2 less points on offer to every team?

If history is any guide, we'll need 12 - 13 wins, (26 - 28 points.)

2018 it was 32 15 wins

Well you could say 28 with 13 wins would have got you in - cos the 9th team was on 26 pts

Infact 26 pts with a positive diff would have got you in

Outlier

When was the last time 1st and eighth were separated by one win?

I'm gonna guess never.
That is the correct guess...
And unfortunately with the closeness of the top 8 this year, the NRL will no doubt talk up the evenness of the competition and how the salary cap is doing its things, blah, blah, blah.
They will conveniently forget that for the top 8 to be so close, meant that 6 teams had to lose at least 65% of their games and that too is because of the salary cap.

And two teams have been the minor premiers the last 7 seasons. The cap is working just fine

Yeah I also can't remember the spoon race being so close either (for awhile at least), but we beat all those other f**kers. Suck on it Moanly & Turdston!
