There was some rumblings about England Knights entering a 4 Nations with France, Wales, Jamaica...
We all suspected it would never happen because it was a dead obvious and exciting idea, which means it has no place in Rugby League.

I haven't watched much 9's, what are the positions that are generally adopted from 13's? Is it:

Fullback
Wing x 2
Centre x 2
Half
Mobile Forwards x 2
Dummy Half

Pretty much, though Id actually go with 4 wingers and drop the centres. Wingers are big enough these days and speed is everything in nines.

Ponga
Ado Carr
Oates
Gagai
Munster
Brookes
Cook
+2 second rowers

That would be some attacking side!

Problem is a lot of wingers can’t pass or defend to save themselves which is how they were put on the wing to start with.

Top 2 from Pool A and first from pools B and C qualify for the finals.

What a boring format. They literally chose the most boring format for the competition they could have.

Why the f… don't they have 4 groups of 3 ?

Only 8 games, instead of 18

For a 12 team comp 3x4 is the best way.
But.
Should have seeded NZ as top of pool C, and moved Fiji to Australia's pool.

A
Aus
Fiji
PNG
USA

B
England
France
Wales
Lebanon

C
NZ
Cook Isl
Tonga
Samoa

Top 3 of each pool go through to semis.
Then have the 3 2nd place teams play-off for the 4th spot.

So guess Aus, England, NZ go through automatically and have playoffs of
Tonga v France
France v Fiji
Fiji v Tonga
winner goes through

Semis randomly seeded
Aus v Tonga
NZ v Eng

Final

So how do the Semis work?
Does top of Group A v top Group C; runner up Group A v top Group B?
