Oh yes! Flip, you should have listened to them during the Oz v England match in Melbourne last year, I wanted to shoot Hemmings there and then, and to give Stevo a few diggs to the body. And some of you over there think you've got it bad with Phil Gould!

Assistant Steve Price will be taking over.

FTR, Price is a former St George Dragons back and not to be confused with the former Bulldogs and Warriors prop.

He made 9 first grade appearances for St George in 1998 and got some huge wraps before being injured. Played a couple of games for Balmain in 1999 but had to retire due to injury.

He has been in the Dragons coaching staff for years now and looked good when he was the coach of the Dragons seconds ('Premier League' ie NSWRL) in 2006.

Okay, thanks, as regards Bill Ashurst, he left the Panthers under a bit of a cloud didn't he ? And wasn't he a 1 game in 5 player ? If that.

Brown warns Wigan over Dragons

imagesource.php

Saturday 26th February 11
Wigan Warriors will have to be at the top of their game if they are to get the better of St George Illawarra in tomorrow’s PROBIZ World Club Challenge, according to the former Dragons coach Nathan Brown.

The Huddersfield Giants boss was in charge of St George for six seasons up to the end of 2008, when he made way for the arrival of Wayne Bennett and headed to England, and he knows how difficult they will be to topple at the DW Stadium.

“They’re hard to beat are the Dragons,” said Brown. “They wouldn’t give a poor man a feed. They just give nothing away, absolutely nothing.

“That’s the big challenge for Wigan. They’re quite resilient about what they do.”

The Australian champions will go into tomorrow’s game without Bennett, who flew home on Wednesday night to be with his gravely-ill mother-in-law, and have also had to contend with a 12,000-mile journey and a marked drop in temperature.

That, according to Brown, could help even up the contest, as the Dragons seek to complete a hat-trick of wins for NRL clubs following recent victories over Leeds Rhinos by Manly Sea Eagles and Melbourne Storm.

“The big thing going against them is that they played a game in Australia a week ago and flew over,” said Brown.

“They’ve had limited time here and a lot of their players have played 40 minutes of footy whereas the Wigan guys will be much more match-hardened because they’ve had two premiership games and two or three friendlies.

“All those things make the game more interesting. It should be a good contest but St George are a very hard team to beat and Wigan will have to play very well to beat them.

“They’re capable of doing that, they’ve got a good coach and plenty of good players.

“But, if the Dragons are prepared, they will be very, very hard to beat. They’ve been the top side in the NRL for the last two years.

“They won’t give Wigan anything, whereas pretty much all the sides in England, at some stage give you some opportunities to do okay.

“Saints just keep putting the ball in the bottom corner and chase and keep making you work hard.”

Brown, who will watch the match on television after Huddersfield’s home game against Hull FC, admits he will have divided loyalties over the fixture.

He said: “There’s a real part of me that wants to see the Dragons win because I’ve got so many friends there and there’s a part of me that would like to see the English do well because I’m in the English game and it would be good for the game over here.”
