It's not WCQ related but I wasn't going to start up a new thread for it; Cameroon were KO'd in African Cup qualifying last night.

It means the tournament's two most successful teams, Egypt and Cameroon, will not play in South Africa in January.

All the other big guns are there though like Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Ghana, Tunisia, Morocco, and defending champs Zambia.

Was that your first ever international lol it happens all the time
To be honest I barely watch internationals unless they're major tournaments (eg Euro, World Cup) - I barely watch qualifiers and don't watch friendlies at all sadly. Actually I barely watch league internationals too. Bad I know, but on the weekend I saw both on the same day lol.

Sounds a bit like saying you don't watch the a league, but make comments about the quality, or have no interest in the EPL, but comment about it consistently huh TT?

Sounds like Socceroos got out of jail. Massive result, watching it tonight when I'm home.

Manuel Neuer is just awful and straight up embarrassing. ter Stegen is too young, Weidenfeller too old for Brazil 2014. Löw needs to make a decision on goalkeeping because Nationalelf can not succeed with Neuer

Poland v England postponed because some idiot leaves a roof open during torrential rain

Deadset, the national team is a f**king shambles. Been calling for Oar to play for years, comes in and we win. Brosque needs to gtfo, so does Thompson, even tho he scored. Valeri, no place for him. Holger is a f**king joke.

Gee the frogs got out of jail against Spain. Giroud with equalizer on the final play of the game. To be fair they had a legitimate goal disallowed in the first half. If Ramos wasn't on the field I reckon France could've taken all 3 points.

It's not gonna get much easier for Uruguay either. The dreaded away trip to La Paz on Wednesday at 3.6km altitude...

Picked it LP. Bolivia 4 Uruguay 1.

As for the Socceroos, I hope Holger learnt his lesson. Young players from the Eredivisie and Bundesliga shit on geriatric mercenaries playing in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

We'll be right from here on in. Don't think we'll lose another game and we'll finish 2nd on 15 points. But as for what we do when we actually get to Brasil...

Didn't Uruguay select an under 20 team or was that someone else?

I haven't seen the socceroos game but in 06 we had all but 2 or 3 playing in Europe, now that number is down to about 10-12 and players moving around the Middle East, some don't even have clubs like Carney and Kewell (his career all but over now)

I watched the 06 game against Netherlands the other night and the sharpness, intensity and organisation of the team was great. Partly down to Hiddink but partly down to players across Europe playing intense football each week.

We were lucky it wasn't an Iraqi team of the last few years. They looked as bad as us.
Where was the game played? Deadset must've been 50-100 people watching.

Even 2 years back in Gladbach we were pretty good. It's only this year that things have turned.

One thing that has changed though is that almost all the European players are under 26. Surely we can form a team around Ruka, Kruse, Leckie, Holland, Oar, Troisi, Zullo, Herd, Williams, and Holman, with a smattering of the classier older players like Tim and Bresc.

I know Neill's suspended for the next WCQ so maybe we'll see some shifts.

Game was on neutral soil in Doha Jack. And a WCQ involving Qatar was on a few kms away at the same time so it was never going to draw.

What a great fist half between Argentina and Chile. Beautiful attacking football, very open game. Argentina up 2-0 at half time.

Chile deserve better, they were all over Argentina in the first 20mins, created multiple chances but couldn't finish.

Argentina started warming to the task and thanks to some brilliant finishing by Messi and Higuain went ahead with two goals in quick succession, both worth watching.

Plenty of chances created at the end of the first half, should be a good second half
