Upper or Lower? I loved both.

I have fond memories of geniuss in my raid group failing on Frogger, Thadius and Noth in Naxx25 as well.

I was previously on Nagrand, then moved to Jubei'Thos (As Alliance) all because of friends. After I quit they moved to Frostmourne. If I was to play again I'd Frostmourne-Alliance.

Favourite raid by far is Ulduar. I loved it, and the hardmodes. I did them when they were current so getting the DPS check and everything was tough. I remember killing XT002 "Heartbreaker" after he enraged with just me and our "tanking" Rogue still alive. Getting a 100k+ Windfurry crit on Hodir to with the buffs and more, was great. Not to mention Yogg-Saron sent chills down my spine with his "I am a lucid dream, the monster in your nightmares....The fiend of a thousand faces. Cower before my true-form! Bow down before the god of death" and his evil scary laugh on-top.

I miss it in one sense, in another MoP was a massive blow for me and I wish they'd release old-school servers based on BC/Early Wrath Mould (Come ToC they made the game too easy). I loved it back in those days, I know people say to me "Just go private server" but it's not the same feel, experiences and finding a raid or BG is hardly doable (Yet alone stable servers).

Here is a link to my main:

ToC was terrible
ICC was okay but at the time my guild was struggling to get a good 25 players consistently on so we got stuck on Heroic Putricide for weeks and that was enough for me, called it quits from raiding properly besides the odd filling in if I was bored enough to help out.

This is mine:

I remember one Saturday morning when I was farming for herbs, and I had been flying around for around an hour and suddenly asked myself "why the f**k am I doing this shit?" and logged off, never to return the game.

 I've had a few of these moments with various mmorpgs, I always come back though.

Same for me, when I quit in Wrath during ToC after my guild fell apart I was farming, I just clicked and quit. Same when I returned briefly during ICC. Cata was a fail though and I hardly touched it.

My ultimate rage came during Mists, I was doing good. Ripping apart in PvP. Enjoying playing with friends (Despise the game being a fragment of it's former self) and I just clicked and said "WTF am I doing, I'm done with WOW". Ain't played since end of November.

Lol ahhh god ole wow. Haven't had a good play for a while, I believe last time I logged in I heard that elemental shamans are crap so I re specced, realized I was in greens and would have to gear up again, said "screw this" and haven't been on since, witch is a shame since I kind of got into the new expansion.

I played a lot between 2006-2008 but haven't ever really been able to get back into it for long. They've dumbed it down way too much, and while I've liked the expansions - they always make the older stuff seem crappy by comparison.

Agree, release of ToC killed it, game got too dumbed down after that. Start of Wrath was brilliant though. At times I miss it, go back for a quick stint, rip apart in PvE/P then rage about playing, look at morons in trade and quit again. It's just an epic-troll of a game.

I liked the way that Cataclysm complete revamped things, but it basically just did what TBC did to high end vanilla and what Wrath did to high end TBC - made it completely redundant.

I haven't played MoP, but I assume it's done the same thing?

It's a shame that the game has become what it is. It was a lot of fun for a lot of time, and I'm still a big fan of the setting.

MoP killed everything. It feels like an entirely different, broken game that's clustered with to much change and features for its own good. It does not feel like 'Wow' anymore, new talents, insanely stupid gear scaling and much more diminshes the quality.

Which is a shame; Blizz had the chance to really redeem the game and in some aspects it did. It had great questing and a few other things. The just just became to easy, gearing became insanely easy and everyone gets rewarded for little to no effort.

I'm surprised they haven't just announced World of WarCraft II so we can all start paying from scratch again.

They're busy working on Titan ATM. There was a blue post saying something about WoWII.

Something about it being "Worked on but Titan is the focus". From the way they are structuring though I think WoW might have one XPac left in it.

DiabloIII was a massive miss, MoP was a mix. They hit 10mil subs for a brief time but that will crash fast I reckon. Waiting till they release their stats regarding it.

I've heard varying things. Some say one patch left. Some say two. The logical endpoint is dealing with Sargeras/The Burning Legion, surely.

They're something of a dinosaur these days. LOTRO and Guild Wars 2 are both free to play and while nothing ground breaking, are both solid games.

Elder Scrolls Online will further muddy the waters.

5.2 is shit-hole. I quit before 5.1 and I'm happy I did. Nothing interests me about it at all.

Here's one of the blues posts:

“Everything ends, even WoW… So a more suitable question would be “When will WoW end?”… my guess is that it will end when there is no one left playing.

There are lots of cool things in the works for the game in the future, so I personally think WoW has quite a few good years in it still.”

Misa, What's LOTRO and GW2 like? Any good? What about Rift? I'm looking at getting into a new MMO with a mate of mine and stuck deciding on what to choose.

I've played all three as well as the awful D&D Online and Warhammer: Age or Reckoning games. Those two are worth avoiding.

GW 2 is fun enough, but I don't really care about the setting. Class progression is good and the 'live' storylines are a nice touch. It's got some cool combo attacks (like where your attack is improved by the presence of an ally), but still felt a little like a WoW clone to me.

LOTRO is really cool IMO. The setting sells itself and they've done a good job of making the world feel vibrant. If I return to MMOing, this'll probably be the game I play.

I didn't mind Rift when my brothers and I all gave it a spin. It had some cool features, but felt too much like WoW to me.

I racked up several months of game-time on LoTRO. It's my next most played mmorpg after Runescape. Played it on and off from 2007 (release) until 2012.

I loved it, like Runescape had some great times on there and made some friends that I still game with today. The initial appeal was the LoTR setting but it didn't take long before I really got into the game in general. Fantastic graphics during it's hey-day. I was a fan of the PVMP system and is pretty much the main thing I miss about playing. I left before the latest expansion though so can't comment on that.

GW2 is the mmorpg that currently owns my soul. I started playing it at release. Already racked up 1000+ hours. I agree with most of what Mis said except I would say GW2 is the least like WoW out of any mmorpgs I've played. The only thing I can really think of are the graphics, they are WoWish in a way (especially compared to LoTRO). The combat system is fairly unique to the GW franchise as far as I know, and really I can't think of any other likenesses.

I spent most of time on GW2 in PVP now and am still enjoying it.
