i think i saw moro mentioned a few pages back, Glen Morrison finally chucks a tanty that the reason he isn't being picked for the blues (including a man of the match in the city v country game and still being overlooked). Heads to the eels doesn't hit anywhere near the form he was in up north. In the mean time O'Donnell heads up to replace him and walks straight into the blues team and the clubs first grand final appearance.
He was fantastic for Parra in 05 and 06.

Has anyone mentioned K hunt and Israel Foolau?

Great career moves there, embarrassing themselves in fumbleball for a few years followed by going to a 4th tier sport.

Throw in the drugs (KH) and the homophobia (IF) and you've got a couple of winners right there.

Folau would walk into any union or league team in the world

He was awesome for NQ in the 5 seasons prior. I just think he was never going to get picked for NSW no matter who he played for or how good he was playing.

Me thinks his actions shittin on Balmain had deep ramifications at NSW selector level..........

You can't really call them bad career moves because they cashed up without doing any damage to their bodies....they were getting paid over a million to play a borderline contact sport.

Wally going to the Gold Coast was horrible. But I guess he had to have control

He got punted from the Broncos mate...

I remember his last year at the Broncs when it all came out, and they were playing in the Semis at the SFS.. 1990 I think... He was out of favour, and on the bench coming back from injury (an arm I think) and the Broncs were getting towelled and apparent they'd get beaten and exit the comp..

The crowd started cheering for Wally... Cheering him to get a run... This - when for the term of his natural life all NSW fans despised Wally and his lineage all the way back to his ancestors for creating Wally.... Wally's a Wanker was sung more that the National Anthem in Sydney.. His mere presence would make us spit chips, extra salt & vinegar..

But cheer we did - and eventually when he got the call up and ran on - the crowd went nuts!

I still think about that a lot - why he was public enemy number one yet at that point, we all were his biggest fan. I actually think it was pure respect. Our venom was oddly in respect of his ability to turn us over, our cheering was respect for one of the greats of the game who's time had come.

Agree his time on the GC wasn't great. Actually quite sad to see. But not everyone, not even the greats get the fairytale finish to their careers on their own terms..

Blake Austin knocking back a 4 year, 3 million dollar deal because he thought he could get more is one of the more horrific financial errors I’ve seen

He’s not even going to make a 1/5th of that

It looks like we dodged a bullet with that one. Just like the Milford 1M per year offer we made.

This is like putting your unregistered winning Lotto ticket through the wash..

Hope his missus is the understanding type...

TBH from the looks of his Mrs, she probably told him to knock back the 3M and ask for more. He has her name tatted on his neck ffs. He probably can't even get his creep on.
