Worst finals series in years?

Sharks VS Dragons and Tigers VS Dragons were two cracking games

agreed. those two games along with broncos vs storm were my favourites.

So, from the above morass I can deduce the following:

The minor premiership starts in round 12. All previous games are irellevent, and only serve to get Manly and Cronulla fans excited. Losing all games before this is irellevent.

Wests are fake premiers because they won more games than any other team in the year.

North Queensland didn't deserve to be there because they came 5th in the minor premiership in an 8 team finals series.

It should have been a KNights v Souths graand final. Joey could have held the Telstra cupin one hand, the wooden spoon in the other.

Grand Finals are null and void unless Canterbury are in them.

The main aim of a grand final is to see Parramatta lose. When the lose any other game in the year it is irellevent.

Don't bother being nasty to me -I mightn't notice. I'm now off to search for Lazarus' Reef. I hear it's somewhere near Atlantis - maybe the Loch Ness Monster can give me directions. :|

I only brought up the Knights when asked what teams I believe could've performed well in the finals series. I stand by that as well.

Plus, everyone knows Lockyer only made the squad because of Bennet. Same can be said for Brent Tate. I'm just thankful he didn't name Tonie 'TBA' Carrol as well :lol:

Yet idiots on here are saying that the Sharks and Manly should not of been there! Fair enough they were'nt in form at that time of the season but the reality of it is that both the Sharks and Manly got enough points to be there and all the other sh** house teams below them did'nt! Simple.

The last time I discussed the captaincy was in the pre-season.

Anyway, why would I care? Any sane person can see that Johns is the superior player and captain. Barrett should be the 5/8 ahead of Lockyer ffs.

I enjoyed the finals series a lot. Maybe not one of the best ever, but they can't all be, can they? I'd give it a 7/10, and the season as a whole 9.5/10.

Had the Knights made the finals yes they probably would've given them a shake. But unfortunately as others have saisd the comp starts in round one, not round 14. You can't wait 14 weeks to get your sh*t together and start winning if you want to play in September.

I made a post similar to this Legend, about 5 weeks out from the finals, asking where the hell the intensity was ? Like you, i too got howled down, but i was apparently "jealous" my team wasnt there. Which of course is a load of crap, i think most semi series this century have been fantastic and full of intensity, except this years.

Quite frankly the ONLY team that showed any intensity was The Tigers, and thats why they are deserved premiers in my eyes. The team that disappointed me the most was Saints. I really thought theyd step up a gear in the finals, but they went backwards.

All in all i totally agree Legend, a most disappointing semis series.

Poor effort??? Surely I'm entitled to my opinion as is everyone else and just because I thought the finals series was a dud it's a poor effort?

1998 was good opening series for the NRL as was 1999, but this year was extremely disappointing from where I sit.
