Worst finals series in years?

Knights won 8 of their last 11 matches.

One of the losses was when we were missing 16 players including Johns, Buderus and Simpson through SOO.

One of the losses was in Golden Point.

The other was by the most miniscule of margins against a red-hot Dragons outfit.

We beat the Eels, Sharks, Cowboys, Storm and Manly through that run, all teams who went on to compete in the finals series. Using your logic, we would have made the Grand Final because we beat the Cowboys.

Whatever. You Knights fans are so biased it's not even worth talking about. Anyone claiming Souths and Newcastle were capable of winning it this year are obviously quite mad.

Point is that Clubs have to perform for the whole season to reach the eight, not for example lose their 1st 15 games straight, win some games at the end of the season and than expect to do better than the teams who had a dig from Rd1 and managed to stay in the eight...

You idiot.

1. Did I ever say the Knights deserved to be in the 8? No. I simply stated that they would have fared a hell of a lot better than the likes of Manly and Cronulla.

2. Manly had a dig from Round 1....up until about Round 14, when they went on a streak that saw them lose 9 of their next 12 games.

3. The Knights lost 13 straight, not 15. Please don't lie to make your argument seem stronger. It's pathetic. If you actually did think they lost 15 games straight, then perhaps you should get you facts straight before making a fool of yourself.

The Dragons were always the team to beat, to win the comp you had to beat them. Unfortunately (imo), someone did.

I agree with you Legend. The Tigers/St George game was the only one that was good (but not great). The bottom line is that the teams that made the top 5 all had great winning streaks during the season, but none could maintain it for the whole season and none were truly dominant the whole year. The most consistent teams over the season were not in the Grand Final... and we ended with a Grand Final between teams 4 and 5. Good on them for getting there and it is the Eels and Dragons "fault" that they lost their biggest games of the season. However, you have to wonder whether the McIntyre system gives teams 1 and 2 the advantage that they deserve.

bullsh*t.

Who had the longest winning streaks in 2005?

Consistently winning obviously doesn't count?

I wouldnt say it was the worst final series, there were a few good contests in the finals. But yes it wasnt as good as everyone expected.

I cant really think of any finals series that was the worst. 2001 maybe where most of the games were one sided, but it wasnt too bad.

Someone mentioned 1997, how good was it, not only to see Gold Coast in the finals, but most of the games were decided in the last 10 minutes.

Also 1994 was the same, one game went into extra time, another one was decided by a field goal. Shame the GF was one sided.

Yep, 1997 had the Knights coming back from 18-0 to beat Parra in a thriller and Norths did a similar thing a week later. We had the two grand final qualifiers - Newcastle v Norths where Albert pulled off that classic tackle on Seers and manly beating the Roosters with a late field goal and then one of the great grand finals to cap it off.

Legend did you see any the tries the tigers scored in their 4 game domination ?

Or were you too busy watching a bootleg tape of the vb premier league semi final (Canberra vs Roosters) ?

I let you know what happened cause i was there.

Your team got done 60-10.

And your first grade team ran 2nd last.

No you wouldn't.

You had your chances and weren't good enough. In fact, you actually came last.

Can you read? Or did you misinterpret my post?

I said that by using BB's logic that the Knights wouldn't have won if they made the 8 anyway because they lost to the Dragons, we would have actually won because we beat the Cowboys, who came second...

By the way, you didn't just say that you would have fared better than Manly and Cronulla. I would agree you would have fared better than Manly at the least.

My problem is, you said you would have been a chance at winning it. I don't think that is true at all.

The Knights had the third best record over the last 11 rounds, behind the premiership favourites(Dragons) and the eventual premiers(Tigers).

If that isn't form, I don't know what is.

Take a hike sh*t for brains. Where did I say the Tigers weren't worthy of being premiers?

I also mentioned above the Raiders were consistently bad. I mentione twice actually. Once sarcastically for the more educated lot of which you are not a member and once in plain english just for simple minded morons like yourself. Actually, it was just for you.

Like everyone else, I'm entitled to my opinion but low and behold, we have arseholse like you masquerading as humans spreading your stink throughout the forums and the rest of us have to get out the glen 20 just make it bearable to be around you. Hell, even the flies are seeking refuge from the ungodly odour you are eminating. Back to the sewer pal and get high on whatever it was that made you think people gave a sh*t about what you thought.

Immortal, I'm from the area so I'll say what I think, even if over-sensitive politically minded simpletons like yourself can't recognise humour from a hole in the ground.

Disappointment of the year would have to be the dogs, wouldnt it? This year was their last chance to make it to the semis with their budget busters.
They showed that they have no team spirit when things became a bit tough.

As the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Well, the only place they went this year seemed to be to the pub.

Next year they are destined (without all of their budget busting players) to go even further - they will end up in the cellar.

Maybe they can use the spoon to control some of the "children" in the club that keeping acting up.

They were a BIG disappointment in 2005.

In relation to worst Final series.

I honestly Believe that the Bulldogs, Penrith, Roosters and Probaly Newcastle would have beaten the West Tigers.

Bulldogs and Roosters? How? What did they have to offer that could have possibly troubled the Tigers?

Penrith and Newcastle had the ability to (and Penrith did in round 26) but certainly not the Bulldogs and Roosters
